I’m really excited to share a collaboration between my company Evergreen Active and The Art House Wakefield to bring the first of two 8 week support sessions for Wakefield Women 💞

is a unique, 8 week menopause support course providing information, good company and peer-support for women experiencing peri, very and post-menopause 🙃

The course provides;

- Up to date information on menopause symptoms and how to manage them

- Accessible creative activities designed to help you explore your symptoms and process emotions

- Gentle exercise including walking and strength-building

- Nutritional advice to help manage symptoms and support health and wellbeing

- Time to chat and connect with others going through similar experiences over a cuppa

All sessions are led by me - a CPD accredited Menopause Coach and TAH facilitators with lived experience, who really do understand.

Last night in Huddersfield I had the privilege of a conversation with a woman about the lengths she’s had to go to - and ultimately pay privately for - to get solid information, support and appropriate treatment for her personal experience of Menopause 💔

And, all of our experiences are personal aren’t they? We don’t all go through it the same way, even though we do all go through it

One of the most common fears I hear about HRT is the (reported 10yrs ago & since scientifically de-bunked) link to Breast Cancer

Unless you’ve had, or have maternal history of Breast Cancer, the chances of HRT being responsible for you developing it - are massively lower - than those of Obesity, excessive alcohol consumption, sedentary lifestyle and smoking. Any or all of the above.

In the majority of cases, HRT proves to be far more beneficial in our overall health, wellbeing & longevity, than not 🎯

In my experience, it’s not a last resort or failure to cope, it’s simply replenishment of the hormones we naturally lose at this stage of our lives, but SO need to keep us as close to being ‘ourselves’ as we can 💪🏽

How many times have you told yourself that you’re too tired to get out and move? 🙋‍♀️

Especially on a work day evening? Especially on a Wednesday 😩

No Blame No Shame - this was definitely how I felt after an inactive office day yesterday 👩‍💻 My warm home & PJs were definitely calling me!

But, I’d booked on to our Running Fit Ossett & Horbury Wednesday Warriors meet & social and that made me ‘accountable’. So off I went and I was SO happy I did 🤩

Still buzzing this morning 💥 I mean, the food & chats afterwards were just 🥰 too!

Equally, if I’d have gone along to our Walking Fit meet & Easter fuddle - I’d have had an amazing time there too 💗

My point being, what if we re-frame some of our well-worn old phrases?

‘Exercise’ becomes ‘Movement’
‘Fitness’ becomes ‘Health’
‘Diet’ becomes ‘Nourishment’
‘Should Do’ becomes ‘Want to Do’
‘Group Meets’ becomes ‘Connection & Fun’

When you join something like our groups I get it, it’s hard to start with and it’s challenging to be relatively consistent with everything else you have going on 🤹‍♂️

Howeverrrrrr, you’ll find them to be way more than ‘just’ ‘fitness’ groups 😉 and you will always be more than welcome

Trust me, as Evergreen Active groups, we’re all on 😘
