PEGS has two different pages and they both serve different purposes.

PEGS - Child to Parent Abuse Support

This is our public page. Which means anyone can view, share and comment on posts here. Please note that anyone, including friends and family who have access to Facebook can access this page and its content.

PEGS - Peer Support Group

This is a private, closed group for parents and carers who have been referred into PEGS. Posts here are only seen by members of the group.

We know people often share very personal experiences on our main page and it’s important to us that everyone feels safe. If you’re posting or commenting something personal to your experience, please take a moment to check which page you’re on before sharing.

In the meantime, we’ll also be working on a new logo specifically for our Peer Support Group, to help make the difference between our public page and private peer space much clearer💜

We’re continuing our new series spotlighting the brilliant organisations based here at The Centre, this time introducing Obertelli Play Therapy.

Obertelli Play Therapy provides specialist therapeutic support for children and young people, led by qualified play therapist Gina Obertelli. Their work focuses on helping children express and process their emotions through play, creating a safe, child-centred space where they can make sense of their experiences in their own time and in their own way.

They offer a range of therapeutic approaches, including play therapy, filial therapy for families, trauma-informed support, EMDR, DDP principles, and life-story work. These sessions help children build emotional resilience, develop confidence, and work through challenges such as anxiety, trauma, bereavement, attachment difficulties, and behavioural concerns.

Obertelli Play Therapy is also committed to supporting parents and caregivers, offering guidance and collaborative involvement to help strengthen relationships and improve emotional wellbeing at home.

We’re proud to share the important work they do, and we look forward to highlighting more of our neighbours at The Centre over the coming weeks. Learn more about Obertelli Play Therapy by visiting their website: https://bit.ly/4pOHzxG

A huge thank you to Shropshire Live for shining a light on our latest milestone 👏💚

The New Saints FC Foundation has officially taken on the management of The Centre Spot, a vibrant community hub already buzzing with youth clubs, play therapy, music production, sport, and so much more.

With amazing partners like OsNosh - Oswestry Community Kitchen, St John Ambulance, Obertelli Play Therapy, Soundlives and many others, we’re committed to safeguarding this space for young people and the wider Oswestry community.

This marks an exciting new chapter, and we can’t wait to build even more opportunities for local families, groups, and organisations.

PEGS have been featured in SEN Magazine!

“We’re safeguarding the children… but who’s safeguarding their parents?” - Michelle John, PEGS Founder

In SEN settings, safeguarding understandably focuses on keeping children safe. But as Michelle highlights in the article sometimes it’s the parent or carer who may be at risk, especially in families experiencing Child to Parent Abuse (CPA).
