🏃 Our first Run 3D Event - Success! 🏃‍♀️
On Monday 14th July, we teamed up with Run 3D at the stylish Coach House Fitness Gym in Oswestry to bring 3D gait analysis and musculoskeletal testing out of the lab and into our local space.

Using advanced Vicon motion capture technology and Oxford University -developed software, we assessed walking and running mechanics in detail- identifying patterns that traditional methods often miss. With expert insights from Ken (Run 3D) and orthotic support from Tom (Woods Orthotics), each client received a full report and personalised recommendations.

The Coach House team made everyone feel right at home, a big thanks to Rad and the team for having us 😀. The coaches also got a unique look into how movement analysis can complement training and rehab. 💪

📹 This video demonstrates how we design custom insoles using CAD software and a 3-D scan of the patient’s foot. By combining precise imaging with digital design, we can accurately position pads and reliefs to target the patient’s symptoms.
In this case, the patient presents with a bony prominence prone to high-pressure, causing significant discomfort. Using the software, we’ve offloaded this area with pinpoint accuracy to alleviate pain. Additionally, a metatarsal pad has been carefully placed to reduce foot pressure and improve comfort.
The final touch? Each insole is milled out and meticulously finished by hand - ready for the patient to step into comfort and relief. 🦶

✨Serial Casting✨ a technique used to gradually improve range of movement at joints with restricted motion. We were really impressed with the as it offers all the same benefits of traditional serial casting, but ✅we have been able to remould it to improve ankle range of movement ✅our patient can easily remove it to clean and inspect his skin or to complete physiotherapy exercises ✅it is lightweight and strong so it can fit well within high street footwear. This will maintain his ankle range whilst we await is new custom AFO 🦿

This client is such a fighter, we are so awe inspired by how much he has improved in the short time we’ve known him. 🙌 We’ve been seeing him to improve the range of movement in his legs as he developed knee contractures as a result of a traumatic brain injury. These CCDs (contracture corrective devices) only need to be worn for one hour a day and help gradually stretch out the contracture. With improved flexibility at his joints, his mobility is steadily improving every day 💪

A set of insoles made today with layers of EVA in various densities and a metatarsal pad, specifically designed to reduce this patients metatarsalgia. You cannot see it in these photos but there is an extra soft cushion built in to offload the 2nd and 3rd metatarsals. This client will soon feel a great deal of pressure taken off their feet!

A custom made pair of EVA insoles manufactured by Tom today. These insoles are designed to help our client who has PTTD and Morton’s neuroma. PTTD is a condition that can result in damage and inflammation to the tendon that runs down the inside of the ankle supporting the arch of the foot. If left untreated it can lead to permanent flatfoot deformity and pain. A custom insole that supports the arch and helps to offload the tendon can be an effective way to manage this condition and allow the patient to continue to lead a pain free and active life.

Currently, there is a rather large crane in our car park 🏗️ which has been acquired to carry out some roof maintenance. Whilst mesmerising to watch in action, the location of the crane means that unfortunately our usual car park spaces are not available to use. We are open today but I’m afraid our clients will need to find alternative car parking. We apologise for the inconvenience, but enjoy the spectacle . 🚙
