“Volunteering helps me as well as helping the children”

Ludlow shop volunteer Judith explains- “Having reached retirement age, I still feel I’m doing something really useful. I feel part of the team and knowing it’s for the children means I’m helping a really good cause”

Amy has recently moved to the area and says, “Volunteering is a good way of getting into the community. It has helped me a lot”.

Mold Mayor joins Hope House Tŷ Gobaith Children’s Hospices’ Eat Cake event!

Hope House Tŷ Gobaith charity shop volunteer, Margaret, offers tea and cake to Mold Mayor, Councillor Haydn Jones, helping to launch our Eat Cake event raising funds for seriously ill local children.

“We’re helping the children but it’s also good for our mental health and wellbeing.
Time flies. We have a lovely bunch of volunteers and there’s a really happy atmosphere”.

Hope House bucket collectors needed at Coronation Live event in Oswestry.

Will you come along to join in the fun and festivities and lend a hand with our bucket collection at Cae Glas Park on Saturday 6th May, where the King’s coronation is being streamed live on big screens. Entertainment for all the family and a band in the evening.

Church Stretton Charity shop Saturday volunteers needed

Children’s hospice charity, Hope House Tŷ Gobaith, needs volunteers on Saturdays in our shop in Church Stretton.

Volunteer John says, “It’s really sociable, you chat with other volunteers and customers & get to know regulars like Natalie, Chris and Fergus the dog.

“We call in every day- it’s an absolutely fantastic shop” says Chris. Natalie agrees, “it’s our favourite charity shop and Fergus loves it too because he gets a dog treat”!
