We’d like to say a massive thank you to the crafty knitters who have knitted us some wonderful teddies that we can give out to paediatric patients to help them calm down during treatment. We are also delighted that we now have a Bertie Badger mascot courtesy of the crafty knitters!

🧶✨ Crafty Knitters Welcome St John Ambulance to Collect Bertie ✨🚑

Oswestry’s Crafty Knitters recently welcomed St John Ambulance to collect their mascot Bertie, who was lovingly created especially for them.

A special mention goes to talented Crafty Knitter Gill Scott Forest, who did an incredible job knitting Bertie and bringing the mascot to life. 👏🧵

The group continues to show its creativity and community spirit through projects like this, supporting organisations and bringing people together through their love of knitting.

Crafty Knitters meet once a month and always welcome new members to their friendly group.

Last week
Our team were out every day attending the Oswestry Youth Music Festival. It was great to attend this event again and watch so many brilliant performances from so many young and talented performers.

Our volunteers from the network have spent the last 7 weeks covering a total of 66 performances at the Theatre Severn Panto working with members from across the wider Shropshire area.
A big thanks to everyone who has helped.

Its officially the start of the Christmas Season for us in Oswestry St John Ambulance
On Thursday we delivered First Aid Cover for the Oswestry Christmas Lights Switch On and our very own Dave got to help Switch the lights on.
Then on Saturday, Asher & James were at Stafford Christmas Lights Switch On while Brad & Kim were Wolverhampton Wanderers FC providing Ambulance Crew Cover.

Its been a very busy week for our volunteers.

Monday - Theatre Severn
Wednesday - Wem Fireworks
Friday - Trefonen Fire Festival
Saturday - Training a course for volunteers
Sunday - Remembrance Sunday and Theatre Severn

A big thank you to all the volunteers who have been at these events and giving back to their community.

James, Asher and Lee attended a variety of shows supporting our Shrewsbury St John Ambulance team doing Theatre Severn.
Its fair to say that we had a very fun time.
