After receiving cruel comments since starting school for being skinny (not by choice) I piled on the pounds after an early menopause. Shortly after this I slipped a disc and within a year had gone up 4 dresses sizes. My physiotherapist told me to go away and lose weight. Wow - those words hurt me. Cambridge Weight Plan sorted this out for me in 2014. ☀️ Get outside early – Even before sunrise, morning light helps reset your body clock and may reduce stress hormones.

✨ Create small moments of joy – Simple comforts like a cosy blanket or your favourite candle can help lower stress and support deeper sleep.

🌙 Keep evenings calm – Dim the lights, avoid caffeine, and wind down with something familiar and soothing before bed.

This all sounds obvious but in practice it can be challenging to implement if you try and fill up every bit of time in your day.

Learning to remove guilt around putting time in for you it the first step to change. Achieve consistency over perfect.

From humiliation to health — and why I will help you.

In 2013: I went from a size 8 to 18. This gain totally knocked my confidence and my health, until I found The 1:1 Diet.
I rebuilt my life, my mindset, and my relationship with food.

Health challenges returned in 2024/2025 and I discovered food intolerances were playing a big part in my weight gain.

In 2026 I will lose the last 10lb my body is holding.

Clothing sizes - do not even get me started! So many use that as a goal and if that works for you and keeps you motivated then brillliant. For me it is completely inconsistent as I can be anything from size 10 or Small in dresses and jumpers or Size 16 in jeans. It is a powerful reminder that your clothing size does not always tell the full story.
