After receiving cruel comments since starting school for being skinny (not by choice) I piled on the pounds after an early menopause. Shortly after this I slipped a disc and within a year had gone up 4 dresses sizes. My physiotherapist told me to go away and lose weight. Wow - those words hurt me. Whether you have lost weight or want a new look this autumn here are some fabulous fashion tips from stylist Lisa Talbot.

👗Dress to Impress - An empire line dress flatters your shape by highlighting your narrowest area. Why not flaunt it?

👀 Accentuate the Neck - Choose items with necklines to draw the eye upwards.

🧣Accessorise - Autumn makes it easy to necklaces or scarves for a pop of colour and texture.

💕 Create Shape - Choose items like batwing sleeves that flatter without clinging.

💪 Focus on the Arms - Look for sleeves that hit at your narrowest part of the arms for a flattering effect.

👠Flattering Illusions - Stop dresses or skirts at the narrowest part of your thighs or calves for a longer leg look. Being short I find this hard but some shops have petite length.

Keep focusing on what you CAN eat.

If you are on total meal replacement and are really struggling then talk to me about switching steps.

Alternatively if you are following a step where you are mixing diet products with everyday meals and find cooking a trigger we can look at changing what you have.

Keep in your head your goal and remember every pound makes a difference. It is fun trying to apply your goal and losses to something relatable.

Have you noticed how your self talk can influence what you eat?
It is not background noise - it is your power tool to either lift you up or hinder you.

Using positive affirmations means you are more likely to make healthier choices. Try saying to yourself "I deserve to feel good and nourish my body" and notice how you start to choose nutritious meals over unhealthy snacks.

Stop telling yourself "I will never still to the diet" as guess what? This is giving yourself permission to self-sabotage and create a defeatist mindset.

I now with small mindset changes you will stay committed to your goal. We will work together on a one-to-one basic to overcomes challenges. This is more than a diet, it is team work and having someone by your side.
