A huge thank you to Kristian Haines, who visited the Midland Centre for Spinal Injuries (MCSI) after donating ยฃ1,500 to the MCSI Charitable Fund.

Kris, who was an inpatient in 2023, raised the money at an evening event through auctions, raffles and donations. A further ยฃ1,500 was also donated to the charity Back Up, which supports people with spinal cord injuries.

Since his discharge, Kris has continued to support MCSI through a number of fundraising events ๐Ÿ‘

A huge thank you The League of Friends RJAH for funding a new anaesthetic trolley, enabling our team to prepare and organise equipment more efficiently, reduce anaesthetic time, and support smoother-running procedures ๐Ÿ‘

This new trolley will help provide safer, better and more compassionate care for patients with cancer who come to RJAH for CT-guided biopsies, which can be a frightening and emotional time.

We are aware of the current shortage of medical bone cement affecting the NHS, following temporary production halts at one of the main global suppliers. We understand that this situation may be worrying for patients awaiting joint surgery.

At present, impact on services at RJAH is limited. If you have surgery scheduled at RJAH, please attend as planned unless we contact you.

Our teams remain focused on delivering safe, high-quality care and minimising disruption for patients. We continue to monitor the situation closely and will keep patients and the public informed.

Catering Services at RJAH โ€“ made up of inpatient services, Denbighโ€™s Restaurant, coffee shops and Horatioโ€™s Garden โ€“ have once again received five out of five in their recent food hygiene inspection ๐Ÿ‘ ๐Ÿด

The scheme gives food businesses a rating from zero to five based on a series of criteria, including how hygienically food is handled, physical condition of the area and how food is kept safe. A score of five is top of the scale and means hygiene standards are excellent and fully comply with the law.

Congratulations to the team!

Patients and visitors will be aware of ongoing work across The Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Hospital site to install new solar carports. These canopies will help reduce carbon emissions, lower energy costs, and support our long-term Net Zero objectives.

We are aware this work can be disruptive and want to apologise for the inconvenience, especially if you have struggled to find a parking space of late.
