We were delighted to welcome our local Member of Parliament, Helen Morgan MP, to the hospital yesterday.

Helen came to discuss our Veteran's Orthopaedic Service, and had a tour that took in Powys Ward - where she met staff and veteran patients - as well as meeting with members of our Therapy Services team who are leading on a new veterans' rehabilitation project. She also met with some of our fantastic volunteers who give their time to the Veterans' Service.

We thank Helen for her ongoing support, and for raising the profile of the Veterans' Service and the hospital at large in the corridors of power at Westminster.

Last night, Hayley and Kerry from our Housekeeping Team captured these striking images of the Aurora Borealis from the Path of Positivity at RJAH ๐ŸŒŒโœจ

The natural phenomenon, also known as the Northern Lights, occurs when solar eruptions send charged particles towards the Earth, which then interact with particles in the atmosphere to create vibrant displays of light. While the Aurora Borealis is most commonly visible near the Arctic Circle, periods of heightened solar activity can allow it to be seen much further afield.

Thank you to Hayley and Kirsty for sharing these photographs with us ๐Ÿฅฐ

On Thursday 18 December (tomorrow), a section of the overflow patient car parking will be temporarily closed to allow delivery of steel works.

Clear signage will be in place across the site to help direct people to available spaces, and our contractors will be on hand to help manage traffic flow and provide assistance.

The car park will reopen as soon as the steelworks are moved to a dedicated, smaller section of the car park.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your understanding and cooperation while these important improvement works take place.
