With a new born!

We nailed the exit strategy…

After having her little girl Kayleigh wanted to drop the baby weight

At 16 I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life

I was nudged down an engineering path in school because of this

Continuing it in college and even a year in uni until I realised it wasn’t who I was

I was doing it for someone else, not for me

It wasn’t my dream

I then spent a couple of years working at asda trying to figure my life out

What did I want to do?

Where does my passion lie?

And weirdly enough I saw an advert for personal training courses

I’d always loved heath and fitness

I found it so rewarding helping people

So I thought why not ayy?

It’s got to be better than working in a supermarket

The thought of becoming a PT actually excited me

The first time I felt excitement thinking about a job, not just seeing it as a means to an end

From that moment I knew I found my calling

The thing is it took me until I was 21 to figure this out

For me to the figure out how I was going to then turn this qualification into a career

It wasn’t confusing, a minefield of people advising me to do different things to create a business

10 years later and a lot of mistakes and I couldn’t be happier

The moment you realise you’re not happy can feel like a ton of bricks is falling down on you

How do I change?

What am I meant to do about this?

Just like how you’re feeling about changing your lifestyle for the better

To improve your confidence, fitness & health

I know how it feels, I know daunting it can be

New Year new me can do one

It’s just another short term fad

Go hard for a month

Cut out all enjoyment

Go mental in the gym

And by February you give up because you can’t keep it up

Then you feel like you’ve failed, you just can’t do it

It’s just not possible to keep up around a busy life

But in reality… you haven’t failed

You just chose the wrong approach

I know you want to make this year different

I know after such a hectic and enjoyable December you’re ready to feel 10x better within yourself

And I know it’s a minefield out there of how to achieve this the right way

More isn’t always better

Not when you’re playing the long game

You want your exercise to fit into your week, not take over

And trying to force too much can just cause overwhelm

Not every day is going to go to plan

If you miss a day or 2 due to work, family, or just generally life, you then feel under pressure

Trying to fit in 6 sessions into 7 days doesn’t give a lot of leeway

It’s all too easy to then sack off the rest of the week

Then come Monday you struggle to get a routine again but it all just feels too much

Sacking it off for good

Instead, aiming to exercise 3 times a week makes life 10x easier

7 days for 3 sessions is a much better ratio

It gives you 4 days of wiggle room rather than 1

You’ll still get more than enough in to improve your strength and fitness

But it’s no longer a monumental task

If a day or two don’t go your way you still have plenty of time to move thing around

When it comes down to changing for the better long term, it’s about being realistic, not perfect

It’s about being able to easily keep up healthy habits every week

Not trying to do everything for 12 weeks and falling back into old habits after that

Consistency is always key

So work with your life, your time, your commitments
