Today, Saturday, UpCo in Otley will be open for those of you who really really really wanted to see Jon Langford’s glorious paintings when the exhibition opened but you couldn’t make it because you had friends round or had to visit your elderly mum or there was football on the telly.
This exhibition is a collection of portraits of cultural and counter-cultural icons draped in the flotsam and jetsam of rock n roll iconography. Beautiful beautiful pictures. You don’t need to buy one, just come and look closely at the fine, funny, up-close detail in every painting… in the quiet solace of our upstairs room on Courthouse Street.
Open today between 1pm and 4pm. Just walk in.

JON LANGFORD - NEXT UP UPCO - His painting exhibition opens November 15th at 6. Jon Langford of the Mekons, Three Johns, Waco Brothers joins us in Otley for a weekend of all things JON with a gig on Sunday along with the exhibition which you can see until December 14th.

On Sunday 16th November at 7pm, UpCo will host a concert by Jon along with his faithful pianner-player Barclay McKay. Tickets for this event are priced at £12 from the link , so get one (or two, or three) as quick as you can.

The legend that is JON LANGFORD (Mekons, Three Johns, Waco Brothers, Sportchestra) is coming to UpCo in Otley, Yorkshire and bringing with him a saddlebag full of songs and a wagonload of art...

An exhibition of the boy's strikingly powerful paintings will open on Saturday 15 November at 6pm (all welcome, free entry, UpCo bar).

Then the following day, Sunday 16 November at 7pm, there'll be a concert featuring Jon and his trusty pianner-playing sidekick Barclay McKay. Tickets £12 (bleeding bargain!) available from www.whatsupco.uk

Colin Latter - PAINTING EXHIBITION opens this Friday with an artist talk and special collaboration with our very own Boff Whalley who will be asking Colin all about his work and life inspired by their shared punk histories. Colin was vocalist with the punk band Flux of Pink Indians, writing lyrics, organising gigs and setting up a record label. For more than a decade Colin created artwork for record sleeves, fanzines and gig posters. Today a touch of that anarchic spirit lives on in his work.

Join us in welcoming the artist Jonny Hannah to Otley! His new exhibition of screenprints, posters and artworks opens with an evening of refreshments with Jonny on the decks playing the records they inspire his eclectic work!FRIDAY MAY 2 6-8 EVERYONE WELCOME. Taking his influences from a range of sources, Jonny has explored a unique mix of folk tales, jazz, Americana and pop culture to create a personal vision of the world. The amazing Jonny Hannah comes to Print Town... a new exhibition of prints and artworks opens on May 2nd at UpCo in Otley – the event opening is between 6pm and 8pm and the show will run right through the month until May 31st.

Alongside the artworks and books will be a brand new set of woodcut & letterpress prints, printed at Tilley Printing in Ledbury, on Mr Clark's mighty Wharfedale Press... made in Otley in 1879.
