Back in the treatment room following more exams on my journey to becoming a osteopath.

It’s a exciting time all in all and it’s been made even better by getting great feedback from clients. People rebooking in for appointments following successful management of pain and movement.

Really happy that I am able to support people in this way. There’s nothing worse than daily pain, restricted movement and being unable to enjoy your day due to it.

A little bit of work around the shoulder last night.
Massage therapy to loosen off the tissues, Manual therapy to move the joints and structures. Muscle energy techniques were also used to reduce tension and increase mobility and finally cupping.

Now although this may look like a scene from the Matrix! I can assure you it’s just Chinese Fire Cupping! It’s a very relaxing therapy with many benefits.

A flame is used to create a vacuum inside the glass cups which then uses suction to release tension and bring blood flow to areas in the body that require healing. The cups are used for massage and also for any trigger points (knots)you may have.

As I am now offering Chinese Cupping Therapy, I thought you might want to know more about it.

What is Cupping Therapy?
Cupping is an effective method of alleviating local congestion and stagnation of blood flow. Cups are placed on the skin, and a partial vacuum is created using heat and suction. This draws up underlying tissues into the cup helping with localised healing by drawing blood to that area.

Cupping relieves pressure on the underlying tissues and structures, such as nerves, capillaries and muscle fascia. its a deep treatment which will reduce pain, decrease swelling, and increase movement and the healing of your body.
