DREAM TEAM

First off , huge congratulations to .nicola and for completing the great north run today 🙌🏻

Then we had Chris, Greg, Mitch and Will running the York vale half marathon.

Rounded up with Charlotte, Luke and myself completing the 10k.

Today felt tough !! I was expecting it to be easy breezy because it’s flat, but I felt like I was running through mud 😩and it was red hot this morning too. So a slower time than my last 10k, which I’m beating myself up for, but everyone else did a top job 🙌🏻

Not every event will follow the plan you have in your head, but that’s why we keep going. Always seeking the thrill of completing a hard task 🤩

And I got to spend the morning, and this afternoon with some of my favourites. Added bonus that we all got to pass our newest yard member around , the gorgeous baby Peggy 🥹

You should love yourself at any size …

That’s what they say.

Feeling more confident as a result of fatloss is tied to external validation for sure.

But It’s also tied to putting effort into yourself and seeing that effort pay off. Setting time aside to train in the gym, do your steps, make yourself decent food, saying no to excessive boozing and overeating, prioritising sleep over scrolling and Netflix. All of these things build confidence.

Making you the priority is great for your self esteem.

You can’t pour from an empty cup they say.

So fill your cup right to the brim by making sure you are in your diary EVERY DAY.

The world won’t stop turning, and your kids won’t hate you as adults if you show them that you are just as important as the rest of the world.

You don’t mind chugging the wine or eating the cake and saying life is too short. So apply that law to actually taking care of you.

And watch how much your confidence grows.❤️

I’ve posted a lot about my food recently.

That’s because I’m eager to show you it’s not that difficult. The difficulty lies in consistency and accountability. And your reason why.

The difficulty lies in caving to temptation that is everywhere, especially when you have a family.

That it can be done without extremes, just looking after yourself.

I also know that when I’m focussed on my nutrition and training, my clients do better , and I have more enquiries about coaching.

Because it’s important that I lead from the front 😊

I am such a busy person that when I intentionally slow down I feel guilty.

In fact I feel guilty a lot, when I put boundaries in place I feel guilty.

I’ve just started to focus on not being quite as accessible. Putting my phone away in the evening to focus on winding down, answering messages at set times rather than as soon as they come in. Otherwise I’m always switched on.

And this past week I’ve started to decompress a bit. Mind blown 🧨

What small changes can you make that will stack up over time?

I’ll tell you an easy one that will make a huge difference over the course of 4 weeks. Swap one of your starchy carbs at one of your meal times for a minimum of 4 varied vegetables. You can even buy them frozen - no chopping required. See how that impacts fatloss, and feeling better, with better gut health.

I had to scroll back as far as April to find a photo of myself that I felt comfortable sharing. And I’m not afraid to admit it - we can’t always spin all the plates.

Lost my way a bit this year, but I’ve enjoyed all of my new eras. Running me has been one of my favourites.

Time for me to buckle up. I’ve enlisted some help, which will only add to my own coaching,and for once I’m excited to get back from my holiday and crack on with my newest version of me 👏🏻🥳.

This week .pt and I attended the mental health first aid course courtesy of

Good mental health is one of the key pillars in my business , and we know that creating a community and supporting them to create connection is really helpful in this.

We pride ourselves on being people who you can talk openly and confidentially to during our sessions, so any learning that surrounds mental health is a priority for us. The first step to encouraging better mental health is talking about it , and knowing how to keep that conversation open, with the correct signposting to help, and also knowing how to help yourself too.

I think what one of our main take home points was that not only have we learnt better tools for those conversations but we are now able to support each other too.

We were very grateful to have this opportunity of learning from 🩵

Early access to our popular charity days, our last yard Rox day saw 34 members take part in this physical challenge raising almost £6000 for 2 local charities. The best bit? Some of these people had never considered themselves capable of such a difficult challenge, that was a massive win for us 🙌🏻

On Saturday we host our first charity event of the year at the yard.

As part of the day we will host Teddys football team in Weston lanes yearly fundraiser kids vs adults sled push. They will attempt to push their bodyweight 400m - which is roughly the perimeter of a football pitch( 28 lengths of the sled track) as a relay. We’re obviously rooting for the kids - but looking forward to seeing the adults also getting stuck in 💪🏻

Teddy absolutely loves training with Weston lane football club. He gets to show up on a Saturday morning in all weathers and kick a ball around with his very best friends. Training in all weathers builds resilience, and teaches young kids the importance of teamwork. And we absolutely love going to support him every week.

It would really mean a lot to Teddy if any of my friends or family would sponsor him even just a couple of quid.

Will share some pics on Saturday of the parents struggling whilst the kids run rings around them 😜

The world rewards those who are willing to be bad at something first in order to be really great at it.

I am VERY comfortable playing the clown, making jokes about all my running gear that I don’t need, and how slow and terrible I am at running. But I’m committed.

And that’s all I need to be.

Already I’ve improved.

I’m never gonna be no mo farah, but pitching myself against past me, and I’ve already shaved 6 mins off my 10k time (with ElEvAtiON!!)

You don’t need to be good at something, you just need to start, and make a commitment to doing better. Being consistent, applying enough effort, and patient.
