This is such a beautiful, symbolic meditation — the lotus flower teaches us about resilience and grace in equal measure. It roots itself in muddy water, yet rises and blooms from it, which is why in so many yogic traditions it represents spiritual growth and unfolding potential.
When we hold the Mudra of the lotus at our heart centre, we’re not pretending life is always clean or easy. Instead, we honour the whole experience — the mess and the miracle. The hands open like petals around a dream, a creative intention, a long-held hope… something ready to rise.
In Buddhism, the lotus also symbolises purity and enlightenment — not as a final destination, but a continual blossoming. With each practice, each breath, you are gently unfurling the petals of your awareness.
Hold the flower at your heart. Hold your becoming.
