Want to make a difference to people living with care needs and their families?

Making care run smoothly is the role of a Care Manager, spending time to listen to what people really need and supporting care staff to deliver. We need someone to join our busy care delivery team based in Marston. We are a care charity and a network partner of Carers Trust.

What you'll do:
Support and supervise a team of carers, ensuring they feel valued, supported, and well-led.
Build strong, trusting relationships with clients, families, staff, and professionals.
Organise and manage weekly rotas using care rostering software (e.g. Careline or similar).
Participate in the on-call rota, providing out-of-hours support when required.
Complete client assessments, care plans, and risk assessments.
Conduct spot checks, supervisions, and client reviews to maintain high-quality standards.
Maintain accurate records for carers and clients, both digitally and in home folders.
Oversee training compliance, and support staff development.
Take part in recruitment, interviews, and staff inductions.
Handle calls and queries with professionalism and care.
Provide emergency cover when needed and assist in the smooth running of daily operations.

About you:
Qualified to Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent).
Hold the Care Certificate.
Experienced in a Care Manager, Care Coordinator, or similar leadership role.
Skilled in using care rostering and scheduling software (e.g. Careline, CarePlanner).
Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
A flexible, proactive team player who can also work independently.
Must be a driver with access to your own vehicle.
Passionate about providing outstanding, person-centred care.

What we offer:
A modern, well-equipped office space with the latest technology, including laptops and digital systems.
Free on-site parking for all staff.
A supportive, friendly, and inclusive team environment.
Blue Light Card membership โ€“ enjoy national discounts and rewards.
Generous annual leave that increases with length of service.
Ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
The chance to make a real difference in the lives of carers and their families.

Living with a parent with a severe mental illness can have a huge impact on children. Parental mental health concerns have now overtaken domestic abuse as the most common factor in childrenโ€™s social care assessments. Children with a parent with a mental illness are significantly more likely to go on to have a mental illness themselves and parental mental illness is also consistently identified as a theme when children are seriously harmed or die.

Despite this only about a third of mental health professionals in inpatient settings ask whether a patient is a parent โ€“ and so too often these children are invisible.

A small change could make a huge difference. Amendment NC27 of the Mental Health Bill would help identify and support children caring for a parent with severe mental illness.

The problem with having loyal and caring staff who stay in the job with us for many years is that it is tricky to replace them when they finally move on. At Crossroads some of our care workers have worked with us for over 35 years. Many of the children's team become part of the family and stay caring for children as they grow into young adults.

Hence this post with a request to share it with your network!

We are urgently looking for a care worker to join our children's care team. It would primarily be to support a boy aged 10 years who lives with his family and young siblings in the Banbury area. He is a generally happy boy with complex and special needs. We are looking for someone with energy and a caring nature to fit in with him and his family to maintain his busy lifestyle - going to school and other activities.

There are some nursing type tasks required which would need nurse training. The individual we are looking for needs to have a calm manner and be able to respond to non verbal cues and in an emergency. Hence the pay rate of ยฃ16.49 per hour basic.

Previous experience working with children with complex needs is a must as care is complex. Driving license required.

Term time hours 8am-4pm Tues-Friday, hours during holidays may vary. We can offer full time work with other children to make a full time contract.

We are looking to fill this position asap so the family can help choose and get to know possible recruits.

If you know anyone who might fit the bill please let them know about us :)

Thankyou so much for sharing.

As part of the campaign, we are calling on the government to:

1. Recognise and Respect Social Care
Social care is essential to our society. 4 in 5 people will need care in their
lifetime. We ensure dignity and independence for millions. Itโ€™s time
policymakers acknowledged our true value.

2. Deliver a Fully Funded Fair Pay Agreement for Social Care Workers
With 5.8% of the UK workforce in social care, more than in the NHS, our staff
deserve fair pay that reflects their skill, dedication, and essential role.

3. Secure Sustainable Investment for Community Care
Rising costs and changes to local government and health finances threaten
the future of care. Without urgent investment, millions risk losing access to vital support.

Invest in community care now to protect lives and futures.
