Announcement from the Partners at Hollow Way Medical Centre
2nd May 2023

The partners at St Bartholomew’s Medical Centre and Hollow Way Medical Centre are delighted to announce that from 1st October 2023 their GP practices are joining forces. The two practices will merge to form one partnership with premises on four sites: Manzil Way and Hollow Way in Cowley, Lake Street in South Hinksey and Oxford Brookes University in Headington.

The new partnership will serve 30,000 patients across the four sites and patients will benefit from additional services and greater flexibility when making appointments with doctors, nurses and other clinical staff. Over the next few weeks practice management will be in regular contact with patients to ensure a smooth transition as both practices continue to provide high levels of service.

Dr Louise Bradbury, Senior Partner at Hollow Way Medical Centre said, “This is good news for patients and staff. In the current climate, being part of a larger group secures and strengthens future services. It will enable us to maintain rapid access times and employ more auxiliary staff such as in-house physiotherapists, mental health workers and social prescribers. We are excited about the prospect of working together and about the new opportunities this collaboration will bring.”

Patients may have seen reports of a flu outbreak this winter - we would like to remind patients aged 50 and above that they are eligible to receive a free flu jab from the surgery.

If you have not had your flu jab yet, we we still have appointments available.

We are holding a flu vaccination clinic here at Hollow Way Medical Centre on Saturday 1st October 2022. This is by appointment.

Patients who are eligible for a flu jab can book online using the NHS App or Patient Access, to save time calling the surgery.

Alternatively you can call Reception on 01865 777495 to book your appointment. Please be patient when calling because we expect our telephone to be very busy.

Further clinics will be added later in October.

Hollow Way Medical Centre will be closed on Monday 19th September to allow staff to pay their respects to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

Patients who had booked appointments on Monday 19th September are being contacted by the surgery to rearrange. We have provided additional clinics later in the week to minimise the impact of cancelled appointments.

Please ensure you have ordered your repeat medication and have enough supplies in advance of the bank holiday weekend.
