Ever feel like no matter how much you try to “fix” your back pain, it doesn’t really change?

I loved chatting to Cori Myka about why pain is NOT just physical.

Small, mindful shifts can completely change how your body responds to stress and how we therefore experience pain

Healing doesn’t always come from doing more, sometimes doing LESS is what your body needs!

I said it!!

Telling people to tense their core ALL the time is terrible advice.

It’s unrealistic and out dated.

Tensing your core will make your muscles tired, block natural healthy movements and overload your poor brain constantly thinking about it.

Yes we need good core engagement at times

But it’s also safe and healthy to relax.

If this feel like new advice and what you are currently trying isn’t working then perhaps this is your sign to relax?

😃Oh yes I said it …. How to overcome back pain WITHOUT endless trips to the chiropractor

☝️And I AM a chiropractor!!!

✅I want my clients to need me as little as possible

💙I am a BIG believer in our ability to optimise our own health to control our pain levels, guide our own recovery and be the healthiest version of ourselves

☝️I have lived through significant back pain myself, twice

⤵️Here are the steps I took to heal myself without relying on clicks and rubs (which can feel amazing and do have a place, but not without other strategies to aid recovery!)

➡️Minimise my stress or actively counteract stress if I am in a stressful time

➡️Respond too and control pain with simple self relief strategies like heat or self massage

➡️Keep mobile - I love swimming and walking and some focused stretches

➡️Keep my energy boosted, naturally

➡️Build strength so my system is resilient and can cope

➡️Get good sleep and enough of it!

➡️Optimise nutrition so it serves a body in recovery

✅All of my personal experience plus 12 years helping others has informed my Supple Strong Supported strategy.

Todays blog is all about handling car journeys when you have Pelvic Girdle Pain or Lower Back Pain. There is no rocket science here, nor quick fixes, but sometimes a few key reminders can help make your travel much more comfortable.

Living with lower back pain or Pelvic Girdle Pain can make even simple tasks like getting in and out of the car feel challenging. A few small changes, however, can make your journeys much more comfortable.
