Fresh, light and full of flavour.

If you’re looking for a simple way to brighten up your salads, this Lemon & Herb Vinaigrette is a lovely one to try.

Ever finished a big meal… and somehow still found room for pudding? 🍰

You’re not alone, and it’s not just about willpower. There’s actually a bit of science behind it.

Our bodies send signals from the stomach, hormones and the brain to tell us when we’re full. But the brain also has a reward system that responds to foods we really enjoy, especially sweet things.

So even when you feel comfortably full, your brain can still say… “a little dessert would be nice.”

It’s a fascinating reminder that our relationship with food isn’t always as simple as hunger and fullness.

Understanding how these signals work can really help when you’re learning to make new choices and build healthier habits.

A little reminder… drink more water.

It sounds simple, but staying hydrated makes a bigger difference than many people realise.

When I’m working with clients, one of the first things we look at is how much water they’re drinking each day, because it supports so many important things in the body.

Why your body needs water:
• Supports metabolism
• Helps regulate body temperature
• Aids digestion
• Supports concentration
• Helps reduce fatigue

A simple daily guide:
• Aim for around 2 litres per day
• Drink more if you’re active or in warm weather
• Spread it evenly across the day
• Pale straw-coloured urine usually means you’re well hydrated

When you don’t drink enough you might notice:
• Headaches
• Low energy
• Poor focus
• Increased hunger signals
• Darker urine

Sometimes what feels like hunger is actually thirst, so keeping your water intake steady can really help you stay on track.

A simple way to add flavour without the calories.

One thing I always say is that healthy food doesn’t have to be boring. Sometimes the difference between a plain salad and a delicious one is simply the dressing.

Ever wondered why we get cravings?

We’ve all had those moments… suddenly craving chocolate, bread or something sweet. It can feel like it appears out of nowhere, but often there’s a reason behind it.

Sometimes your body is actually asking for something it needs. Here are a few common ones I talk about with my clients 👇

🍫 Chocolate cravings
That creamy sweetness triggers dopamine, the brain’s feel-good chemical. Sometimes though, your body may actually be looking for magnesium. Foods like almonds, bananas, pumpkin seeds, figs and spinach contain it.

And if it really has to be chocolate, don’t worry. On Plan there are bars, bites and shakes that satisfy that chocolate craving while still keeping you on track.

🍬 Sugary foods
Sugar gives a quick boost of dopamine, which is why it’s so tempting. But it can sometimes mean your body needs nutrients like Vitamin C, Vitamin A, magnesium or folate.

The great thing with The 1:1 Diet is that many of the fruity smoothies contain these nutrients too. Flavours like Raspberry, Coconut & Oat, Apple & Blackcurrant, Cherry & Berry or the Breakfast Smoothie with Oats can be a lovely option.

💗 Happy Mother’s Day 💗

Today is a lovely reminder to celebrate the incredible women who support, encourage and inspire us every day. And I couldn’t resist sharing this beautiful mother and daughter story.

Debbie and Gaby Labrum from Gloucestershire have achieved an amazing 13 stone combined weight loss with The 1:1 Diet.

Gaby had struggled for years to stay motivated with weight loss and often found herself slipping back into old habits. Many people can relate to that feeling. But everything changed when she decided she wanted to feel confident ahead of her wedding.

After seeing an advert from a local Consultant, she decided to give it a go. What started as a step for herself soon became something even more special, because her mum Debbie decided to join her on the journey too.

Together they supported each other every step of the way.

Gaby went on to lose an incredible 8 stone, going from a size 24 to a size 14. Debbie also achieved fantastic results, losing over 5 stone and rediscovering her confidence just in time for her daughter’s big day.

What I love most about this story is how they lifted each other up. Sometimes the greatest motivation comes from sharing the journey with someone who truly understands.

One thing I’ve learned over the years supporting people with weight loss is that there’s no magic formula for tackling obesity.

Everyone’s journey looks different, and that’s completely okay. What really makes the difference isn’t perfection, it’s consistency. Small, repeatable actions that you keep coming back to over time.
