CASTING CALL! 📢

Taking Action on Addiction are working with the team at Raw Research Casting on this year's film following the success of our 2023 feature ‘Everybody Knows Somebody’. 🎥

We want to share the real stories of people who have lived experiences of addiction and celebrate the incredible impact of recovery on peoples' lives, families, and communities. The film will encourage viewers to examine their understanding of what addiction is and perhaps even inspire people to make positive changes in their own lives. Remember: 💪

Hi everyone, film director Melanie Manchot is screening her new film STEPHEN on Wednesday 15th May at the Ultimate Picture Palace in Oxford. Melanie worked on a video-art project called Twelve at the Ley around 2014 and this is her first feature film made with people in recovery in Liverpool. She has some complimentary tickets on the door for Ley Community graduates and supporters for anyone who finds ticket prices an issue.

Hi everyone, we’ve been re-open a few months now and we’re delighted to say that on Friday we held the first graduation event. There were tears from staff and residents. Thanks to everyone who has made this possible and there will be many more graduations to come!

We’re delighted to be welcome our first 3 women to Ophelia House at the Ley Community today. Over time they will be joined by many more. We’re very happy to be keeping the legacy of the Ley alive.

We’ve been slighted delayed as work through CQC approval but….Ophelia House at the Ley Community, our new trauma responsive residential service for women is now open and accepting referrals!

This new service has been designed to support women through a trauma responsive, model of care that delivers a bespoke programme carefully considering the needs of women.

The service will be delivered by a highly skilled and passionate all female staff team comprised of a psychologist, mental health nurse, counsellors and therapeutic workers.

Hi All

The Ley and Phoenix are supporting organisations for Addiction Awareness Week which is 28th October to 4th November.

The campaign is calling for addiction to be treated as a serious mental health condition and for increased access to support so that recovery can be possible for everyone.

This year's campaign theme is 'Everybody Knows Somebody’

The Taking Action on Addiction campaign is organising an online event on 2 November 7pm to 845pm with a range of guest speakers and music. It's an opportunity for individuals to realise they are not alone, and that their experiences are echoed in living rooms across the country.

On November 2nd (7:00pm - 8:45pm), at the peak of Addiction Awareness Week 2023, Taking Action on Addiction will be presenting an unforgettable event titled "Let's Talk About Addiction"
