Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust We provide mental health and community services in Oxfordshire & mental health services in Buckinghamshire

Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust provides physical and mental health and social care with the aim of improving the health and wellbeing of all our patients and their families. We currently run eight community hospitals in Oxfordshire, as well as providing mental health services in Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire and elsewhere. We also work in partnership with others such as GPs, local universities, local authorities and voluntary organisations. If you or someone you care for needs to be admitted to hospital your care will be co-ordinated by a team of people and as close to home as possible. Our aim is always to work with you and your family to get you home as soon as you are well enough and continue to support you there.

Help us make a difference in the fight against Alzheimer’s disease.
The ABATE Study is a groundbreaking clinical trial that is testing a potential treatment for Alzheimer’s disease in people with Down syndrome. We are looking for volunteers who have Down syndrome and are 35-50 years old to participate in the study.

If you or someone you know fits these criteria, visit Abate-study.com or contact us at mentalhealthresearch@oxfordhealth.nhs.uk.

We can supply more information, answer questions, and see if you might be suitable to take part in the study.

🤔 What is the WISDOM Schools Research Network?

The Working in Schools to Deliver on Mental Health (WISDOM) Research Network, in collaboration with NIHR Oxford Health Biomedical Research Centre is a free national mental health research network for primary and secondary schools, sixth form and further education colleges across England.

By joining WISDOM, schools gain access to high-quality, evidence-informed resources and opportunities to be involved in ground-breaking mental health research that supports students, families, and staff.

No commitment required: schools choose how and when they engage.

A group of patient and public involvement (PPI) contributors have shared some helpful tips for researchers on working with under-served communities.

Their recommendations focus on involving the right people, building strong relationships, and thinking about practical details like fair payment and accessible venues.

The research was carried out by members of the Diversity in Research Group (DiRG), a PPI group that aims to make involvement in health research more engaging to diverse communities.
