I am also a community dietitian for the local community NHS trust and so have always been interested in a healthy lifestyle and enjoyed regular exercise. I have been fitness walking and, more recently, Nordic walking, for the last 2 years - I was looking for something that could replace running to effectively keep me as fit but took the pressure off my joints, was also something I could do straig
ht from my door, was outside with minimal gear required- Nordic walking ticked all the boxes- and more! The additional benefits of strengthening back and core muscles- think Pilates outdoors –and burning at least 20% more calories than ordinary walking convinced me this was something I would like to share with others, so I decided to train to be a Nordic UK Walking Instructor. I am keen to share my enthusiasm for Nordic and fitness walking with anyone who likes walking and would like to get even more out of it in an enjoyable and sociable way.
