On 5th February 2022 we lost our mum, June, to motoneurons disease. This is a horrible disease with no cure. What started off, as we thought and was told by doctors, mum had rheumatoid arthritis. This went on for a year in which mum had a knee replacement due to being unable to walk on her leg without being in pain. Then in winter 2019 mum was rushed to hospital with serious pneumonia in which she was put on oxygen, after a week she was getting worse and became so ill we almost lost her. After coming round and moved to respiratory ward where she could be monitored around the clock, she had a series of test, after which, she was diagnosed with MND. This became a shock to us all and especially for mum. Over the next 2 and half years we watched mum decline from a very independent person, even after knee op, to someone who was unable to walk and needing help with her everyday care. For the last 6 months mum had to go into a nursing home to get the full time care she needed. She then became very ill and needed to be rushed to hospital. After a week she sadly passed away. This disease needs more attention and more funding. This is why we have decided to do a sponsored parachute jump on 24th June in Salisbury. We 5 siblings and my mums older brother and his grandson will all do the Jump to raise as much as we can for MNDA (motoneurons disease Association) in the hope that one day there will be a cure for this horrible disease. And hope that no one has to go through what my mum and many others in the uk and around the world has gone through. Please help us raise lots of money by donating on the attached page!! Thank you for taking your time to read this and hopefully donating towards a worthwhile cause!!
