Our Story

SMART Wheelchairs is a family run business that started in 2011 by husband and wife team Dean and Maxine Jose. With Dean’s knowledge and expertise from over 25 years gained in the industry the dream became a reality.

SMART’s aims and objectives are to provide as much independence and access for our customers by using the very latest technology available. With our knowledge and expertise, we are able to meet and accommodate the needs of some of the most complex disabilities.

Sadly, Dean tragically passed away in September 2017 and in 2018 Dean was included in The Shaw Trust Power 100 of Britain’s most influential disabled people along with Stephen Hawkins OBE, Sir Bert Massie CBE and Lorraine Gradwell MBE which was a great honour.
