Sue’s Story in more detail:

Holistic Therapies + Reiki Master = a belief in Wellbeing From Birth

Introduction

Sue began training in VTCT accredited Holistic Therapies in 2007 but has always been interested in holistic health and would showcase holistic approaches to a wellbeing life when she produced a daily lifestyle programme on Six TV The Oxford Channel, broadcast countywide. In brief, Sue's treatments include therapeutic massage techniques, reflexology, reiki, Hopi ear candling, hot and cold stone therapy, organic holistic facials to name but a few. Past and Present

Sue joined the Neal's Yard Remedies Practitioner team in Oxford in 2008 and immediately signed up for advanced massage courses and also trained with Suzanne Yates, founder of worldwide renowned Well Mother, (www.wellmother.org) the educational organisation which offers support for pregnancy, birth, parent-hood and beyond with shiatsu and massage pregnancy treatments, including lymphatic drainage and Suzanne's Beautiful Birth tips for pregnancy and labour, e.g. visualisations, breathing, birth positions, birth holds for partner, partner pregnancy massage and in labour, nutrition and natural induction. This training has enabled Sue to have a specialist knowledge in pregnancy massage and holistic care throughout all trimesters and post birth. Between April 2012-April 2013 Sue trained with The Lazy Daisy Chain and taught over 50 mums how to have a relaxed-active birth as a Daisy Birthing teacher and as a Daisy Baby teacher she taught 15 babies and their mums various techniques like baby yoga, baby massage, baby reflexology, postnatal wellbeing and relaxation serving a large territory covering Oxford and South Oxfordshire. As a Lazy Daisy birth mentor/educator, Sue has offered classes in birth education, pregnancy yoga moves, breath work, birth positions, relaxations, massage and birth hypnosis. One to One’s, small groups and couples workshops with complete continuity of care and support for mums with newborn calming techniques, baby yoga massage and sensory work. Sue trained with Lazy Daisy and has taught (between April 2012- April 2013 between her licence period only) pregnancy yoga for birth fitness and to help ease pregnancy ailments as your body changes. She taught breathing, movement and relaxation and sent you to a positive place with birth hypnosis. Sue taught mums how to release fears and anxieties and how to open your body and allow those all important birthing muscles to work for you! Sue’s antenatal training achieved FEDANT approval including during her licence period and also as a Complementary Practitioner as mentioned above. The present and beyond

Sue now continues to offer holistic therapies, whatever your age at Neal's Yard Remedies on Mondays and Wednesdays at 1.45-5.45pm and Fridays at 9.15-1.15pm and if you have any holistic treatment, even a 5 or 10 minute massage then you receive 15% off in the shop. Sue also offers deluxe spa style in-room treatments at The Springs Hotel and Golf Club in North Stoke, Wallingford. She practises at The Wallingford Therapy Clinic and offers a mobile service. If you would like to try tranquility in the ultimate treatment retreat near the river Thames then contact Sue for some well deserved wellbeing! Sue 07799411994

Massage styles

Massage stimulates circulation of the blood and lymph fluids, fuels the muscles with fresh oxygen and nutrients while flushing away metabolic waste products, releases physical tension and soothes the nerves by lowering the stress hormones cortisol and norepinephrine and by releasing endorphins in the brain, which have been known to be 200 times the strength of morphine. A massage irons out the wrinkles of tension in our body to leave us feeling rejuvenated and better. Massage affects the immune system as well. You can have a Swedish massage, or go for a deep tissue technique. Sue has also been trained in lymphatic drainage, trigger therapy, Indian head massage, pregnancy massage, reflexology, acupressure, shiatsu and hot stones. You can have an invigorating or relaxing treatment. Either way it will be therapeutic and will benefit all body systems, soothe your mind and renew the soul. Sue has eased a frozen shoulder, sciatica, stiff neck and shoulders, tight muscles and general aches and pains. Aromatherapy can help even further on a physical and emotional level as essential oils can get into the blood stream for a healing inside out effect. Ask Sue to create your perfect wellbeing blend. You can also have a cellulite busting treatment or anti-aging facial so just talk to Sue about your needs. Call Sue on 07799411994 Or email WellbeingFromBirth@live.co.uk

Reflexology - Give your feet and body an MOT & Service

Reflexology treats all health issues as it balances your mind and body. Specialist massage works major organs, glands and chakras in the body as your feet are a mirror of you. Experienced therapist Sue Evans will help to clear blockages. Her clients have treatments to help with the menopause, fertility, pregnancy, anxiety, and other ailments. Reflexology can be a very relaxing treatment for most and Sue believes when your body is relaxed it can heal itself. Treatments boost your immune system and help all body systems to work effectively so that you can cope with life as it unfolds and evolves. Other therapies combine well, like Reiki and Aromatherapy. Or why not have a half hour massage or facial and a half hour reflexology treatement? Call Sue on 07799411994 Or email WellbeingFromBirth@live.co.uk

Hot Stones - Combine hot and cold stones for a speedy recovery

The use of stones in a treatment makes it an energy treatment - you can receive positive energy from the stones as they are charged by the full moon and because they come from the earth. Experienced therapist Sue Evans uses Arizona desert stones and these are very clearing and cleansing. She can also use cool marble stones and crystals to emphasise healing effects. Sue places stones on chakras and areas which need attention. She also massages with them which can create a firmer, nurturing feeling. Two stones may be applied in a massage to the body at the same time for a sublime massage feeling. Sue uses over 72 stone if you have a top to toe treatment! It is such a blissful feeling on the face and toning too! Hot works well for chronic pain. Cold stones work well for acute injuries and together they speed up the recovery of injuries and aches and pains. They can also be used at the same time, one hand with a hot stone, the other with a cold stone and Sue can then give you an invigorating massage if you have cellulite or jet-lagged legs! The hot stones are deeply relaxing. The heat penetrates deep into the muscles, in fact a hot stone massage is supposed to be 10 times more effective than a regular massage. It is one of those must-try treatments, with a deluxe, spa-like feel. Why not indulge even further and add an aromatherapy blend or facial to the experience! Call Sue on 07799411994 Or email: WellbeingFromBirth@live.co.uk

Hopi Ear Candling - Clearing and cleansing

Hopi ear candling helps conditions such as blocked ears, tinnitus, rhinitis, hayfever, recovery from a cold and if you just need your head cleared. It's deeply relaxing and experienced therapist Sue Evans sends positive healing Reiki energy too for added clearing benefit. The treatment warms the area and gently massages the ear to encourage movement. A sinus drainage massage follows, with a massage to the face, neck, shoulders and head with a decongesting essential oil aromatherapy blend. Call Sue on 07799411994 Or email: WellbeingFromBirth@live.co.uk

Facials - Try the first certified organic facial

If you would like natural and organic Neal's Yard Remedies products and a lot of facial massage then this treatment is ideal for you. Neal's Yard Remedies believe 60% of what you put on your face is absorbed into the blood stream so you can trust Neal's Yard Remedies products are safe for you and safe for the environmnet and they work on your body as a whole. An hour facial includes deep cleanse, exfoliation, massage, hand and arm massage, facial massage, serum, eye gel and moisturiser, with a neck, shoulder and head massage included. Products are suitable for all skin types and regular treatments are anti-aging with the use of rosehip seed and frankinscence. Customise your facial. Call Sue on 07799411994 or email WellbeingFromBirth@live.co.uk

Aromatherapy - Discover renewed wellbeing with the powers of scents and touch

Aromatherapy uses the purest plant essence in the form of organic essential oils, which are extracts from various parts of plants, fruits, flowers, bark, roots, or resin. Essential oils contain dozens of powerful complex natural chemicals that have beneficial properties. Aromatherapy treatments have both physiological and psychological effects. The combination of massage and the medicinal and therapeutic qualities of the essential oils (molecules both inhaled [aroma] and absorbed through the skin) can soothe, revitalise, uplift the spirit, encourage positive thinking and boost the immune system enabling the body to heal itself. To book call Sue 07799411994 Or email: wellbingfrombirth@live.co.uk

Reiki - You have the ability to heal yourself

Reiki Master Sue Evans sends positive reiki energy of the highest good through your higher self to where your body needs it. Reiki works on an emotional, physical and spiritual level. When your body is relaxed it can heal itself and reiki facilitates this. Reiki is always positive and reiki knows what you need. It is subtle yet powerful. You can be fully clothed for this treatment. Sue places her hands on body areas and chakras or she hovers above them so it is a non-intrusive treatment. Reiki can send you into a sense of deep relaxation where deep breathes become a natural and enjoyable experience. You may feel like you are sinking into the couch and letting go or you may feel like you a floating in a blissful state. Perhaps you feel like you are meditating for the first time. All treatments can combine Reiki or you may want to experience Reiki on its own. You yu like Sue to attune you to Reiki Level1&2 so you can heal yourself and others? Call Sue on 07799411994 Or email WellbeingFromBirth@live.co.uk

Indian Head Massage - Refresh your head

Through a variety of different techniques, the massage works to release any blocked negative energy in the body that may be manifesting itself as disease or injury in any one of the seven Chakras (energy centres) of the body. It does so by applying pressure to certain points on the neck, shoulders and head that correspond to each Chakra (which is a similar approach to that of reflexology). This unblocks the Chakras, and allows for a free flow of energy around the body, restoring the individual to optimum health and feelings of wellbeing. An Indian Head massage is the ideal way to get a person “out of their head”, far far away from everyday emotional and mental stress. Starting at the upper back, Sue begins by applying pressure to points that dissolve knots and relax the muscles. Then to the shoulders and upper arms to release other common areas of tension, and to the neck and head to release headache-causing blockages and to encourage better circulation of the cerebral fluid. The massage then progresses to the scalp, relaxing the entire head, encouraging circulation and stimulating hair growth. To book call Sue 07799411994 Or email wellbeingfrombirth@live.co.uk

I’ve clumped together some reviews here - thank you!

I booked Sue for a pamper party for a family celebration weekend and we had a block of 8 treatments in our holiday house. The pampering morning went down very well and everyone commented at how much they enjoyed their foot massage or back/neck/shoulder massage! Sue was also very lovely and delivered an efficient, reliable mobile service on the day. I would highly recommend her. Thank you Sue! Lotty

Sue is a very talented masseuse who is always professional, knowledgable about the treatment and very effective. I have had tension in my back, neck and shoulders for years and Sue is always very effective at treating it and makes you feel comfortable in your own home. She uses a holistic approach which makes such a difference to just doing the physical treatment and not having the issue looked at as a whole. Emily

We've known Sue Evans for more than six years now. She comes to our house weekly, always professional and friendly. With her golden fingers she provides excellent massages that helped greatly to ease tension and relieve back pain. My tinnitus disappears! We highly recommend her. Christina

I have known and worked with Sue since 2009. I have given her many in-room treatment opportunities at 5* hotels and am looking forward to her working at a spa for me at the end of the year. Her massage techniques are of a very high standard. She is very experienced and I have no doubt in recommending her. She is a great asset. She shows commitment, a great hard work ethic, perfect customer service and team leading skills. She works well with others and is calm under pressure. She has many transferable skills. Tamara

Sue Evans is a trained professional, and I've found that her treatments have left me with an immediate and longer term sense of wellness. I've been a client of her home treatment therapies for years, and she always follows hygienic practises, washing her hands thoroughly before and after treatments, using disposable sheets on the therapy table, allowing clients to use their own towels / massage oils should they have a preference. She's very client-focussed and doesn't allow your treatments to be interrupted by calls
/ messages, as I've had with other therapists. Sue is organised, punctual and reliable, and always confirms appointments in advance. Kristina.

I have seen Sue a number of times for a massage and some reflexology. I have been impressed by her level of professionalism and her massages have been wonderful. I can’t recommend her enough. Danusia.

I have no hesitation in giving you a very positive reference. You are an excellent therapist and over the period in which I have used your massage services have found that you have improved my health quite substantially, particularly with the work you have routinely done on my neck and spine. I will miss your treatment and look forward to the time when I can resume our monthly sessions. David.

Sue is an excellent masseur. She has helped four members of my family in the past year. Sue is a calm, kind and empathetic practitioner who takes a hollistic approach to treatment. She is reliable and talented and I would recommend her to anyone. Annabel.

I have been visiting Sue regularly at The Wallingford Therapy Clinic and, more recently, at The Body Training Studio Gym in Wallingford, since 2010, where she has treated me for my long-term sports injuries (back and shoulder). Sue is a first class masseuse and a highly skilled and knowledgeble practioner. She has also taught me breathing and relaxation techniques, and I always leave her treatments feeling pain free, more supple and, importantly, less tense. Sue is friendly and very professional and has a relaxed style, which creates a peaceful atmosphere in which to receive treatment. I appreciate Sue’s approach, trust her and feel comfortable on every visit. Her massage techniques are advanced and I can feel the benefit for days after, and they really help me live a normal functioning life. I can highly recommend Sue as she has a lot of experience. I am a valued customer. Jay Axton

Sue has worked for The Pamper Company since 2008 individually and as a team. She is hard working and punctual. She is able to give different types of treatments at pamper parties from manicures and pedicures to deep tissue massages, facials and reflexology. She is also selected to work at our corporate office massage assignments. She has helped us to find a team of therapists and is also self sufficient should we just need one. Danine.

I am Carys Pratten, Store and Therapy Rooms Manager for Neals Yard Remedies Westgate Oxford Store. Sue Evans is a self-employed therapist currently working from our therapy rooms. She has worked with the company since 2008 and has worked along-side myself for the past since 2019. Sue is a highly qualified and knowledagble individual that offers a wide variety of treatments to her clients. She is a confident and enthusiatsic therapist and a joy to work with. She is friendly but also professional and has a good working relationship with our other therapists and staff. Feedback from clients is always positive and she often get's clients returning for repeat treatments. In summary, I would recommend Sue Evans’ service. Carys

I am delighted to supply a reference for Sue Evans. I've known Sue since 2015 when I joined the Satellite Applications Catapult. Over the last 5 years Sue has delivered countless amazing treatments at the Catapult as part of our Well Being Programme to so many of our staff. Furthermore I have recommended Sue to family and friends who have organised home visits. Sue is an incredible professional, whose calm personality, adaptability and care ensure we can leave our day to day troubles behind us and feel refreshed. Sue really cares about people and it's the highlight of the month when Sue visits - she is in high demand! I would recommend Sue to any company who are lucky enough to be able to have her visit. Alastair.

We have been privileged enough to have Sue as our therapy coordinator for 5years at Beacon Festival. Sue has been dedicated & undergone no small feat of finding, negotiating & managing self employed therapists. Sue has demonstrated a great passion for her work, tailoring to the requirements of he festival and yet reinventing the area each year, growing it's popularity through marketing and innovation. I find Sue a pleasure to work with, she is proactive, efficient and responsive to the flexible nature of the event industry. Sue takes wonderful care of the therapists and customers she manages and nurtures.
We are very grateful for her help with marketing, fundraising and coordinating. Her communication skills are wonderful.
I have no doubt Sue will be a great asset to your team as she proven to be for ours. Lindsay.

To whom it may concern,
Subject: Reference for prospective employers of Ms Sue Evans as a massage therapist
I have been a client of Ms Evans for around the last six months. During this period I have had massages by Ms Evans at fortnightly intervals, at the Aquarius Centre on the Harwell Campus.
Ms Evans is an excellent practitioner of massage. During each session, she creates a wonderful relaxed atmosphere. She plays close attention to important details, including use of a range of aromatic oils, and calming music, all of which contribute to the ambiance. My everyday work is quite stressful. I have found that Ms Evans’s massages have de-stressed me. I walk out of each appointment feeling truly refreshed, relaxed, and my muscles feeling softer. I have always felt that Ms Evans has a very caring nature, which is evident by her focus on the importance of my wellness. Above all, when having these massages, I enjoy the peace and the feeling of tensions dissipating. The latter is only possible because of the consummate skill and proficiency of Ms Evans in the art of massage.
I believe that anyone employer would be very lucky to have Ms Evans as a team leader and practitioner of massage therapy. Not only will clients be happy, but also the team will benefit from the skills and experience that she possesses.
Yours faithfully
Mr Steve Norman
