How do we turn integrated care policy into meaningful change on the ground?

This session explores how health and care systems can move beyond strategy into implementation, translating ambition into coordinated, person-centred practice. It will examine the realities of working across complex systems, including governance, workforce, culture and leadership.

Drawing on international experience, the discussion will highlight practical approaches to bridging policy and practice, supporting collaboration and sustaining change at scale.

🕊️ “A woman who wove paths and succeeded in intertwining hearts.” ♥️

The deeply mourns the passing of Dr. Rocío Sáenz, General Coordinator of our network.

A public health physician, academic, and leader committed to social justice, she dedicated her life to defending the right to health, advancing equity, and strengthening health systems in our region.

Her legacy in public health in Costa Rica and across the Americas will endure in the institutions she helped strengthen, in the people she mentored, and in the causes she championed with conviction.

We honor her life and renew our commitment to continue working for health equity in the Americas, inspired by her example.

We are pleased to share that the 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗲𝗿𝘀 (𝗕𝗔𝗦𝗪) are hosting a drinks reception alongside the IFIC conference.

This informal evening will bring together social workers and conference delegates to connect ahead of the main event and to share insights on social work’s professional contribution to integrated care. The reception will include a short formal presentation, followed by networking with colleagues, BASW committee members, and staff.
