🎉 Birthday Celebrations at The Headington Care Home ! 🎉

One of our lovely residents enjoyed their 93rd birthday with family this week! They were treated to a delicious gluten-free birthday cake, which they happily shared with family and fellow residents. They loved all the wonderful presents and cards they received — overall, it was a truly special day. 💛✨
We also celebrated another resident’s birthday with a homemade diabetic cheesecake crafted by our fabulous chef. She said it was absolutely delicious! She had a full and joyful day, made even better by a visit from a good friend, along with cards and thoughtful gifts. 🎂💐

Our residents enjoyed a lovely winter walk to our local hospital, The Churchill Hospital, where they visited the League of Friends Tea Bar. Everyone treated themselves to a delicious cream cake and a warm cup of coffee, the perfect way to brighten a chilly day. ❄️☕🍰

Back at home, we continue to offer a true dining-room experience, creating a warm and relaxed environment where our residents can sit back, unwind, and enjoy every mealtime in comfort. 🍽️✨

We also had a fun and energising group exercise session with Alfie. From breathtaking stretches to quick-reaction games, our residents stayed active, engaged, and full of smiles! 💪😄

One of our residents enjoyed a very special milestone today — their 95th birthday! 🎉🎂
It was a joyful day filled with presents, smiles, and of course, birthday cake. They spent a lovely afternoon celebrating with fellow residents, sharing laughter and a sweet slice of cake together.

Celebrating birthdays in care homes is so important as it helps residents feel valued, remembered, and connected to their community. These moments help us in bringing joy, happiness and fulfillment to the lives of our residents 💛

🪵 A Trip Down Memory Lane 🪵

Two of our residents enjoyed a nostalgic afternoon playing traditional wooden maze games, a delightful throwback to their childhood days. ❤️

They shared how these games brought big smiles to their faces and fond memories of playing them as young girls. Such simple joys remind us that some games and the happiness they bring never go out of style. 😊

🎃 Spooky fun at our Halloween party! 👻

Last Friday, the home was full of laughter (and a few scares!) as we celebrated Halloween in style. There was spooky, eyeball-green jelly, Halloween-shaped crisps, and plenty of sweet treats to enjoy. We even had some frightfully fun green and red drinks! 🕸️

Our residents had a great time playing “Guess Where the Organs Go” on the skeleton and testing their nerves with a mystery box guessing game! The staff really got into the spirit too — with some fantastic costumes all around! 🧙‍♀️🧛‍♂️🕷️
