The Oxford Hernia Clinic delivers excellence in hernia treatment by a team of dedicated hernia specialists. Surgery is performed in a specially designed outpatient setting at the internationally recognised Manor Hospital in Oxford. Our goal is to deliver expert hernia surgery at affordable prices. We are able to provide the full range of hernia surgery, specialising in local anaesthetic inguinal, umbilical and epigastric hernia repair (at realistic and competitive rates). Mr Sadler speaks to all patients personally by telephone prior to any trip to Oxford. We are usually able to arrange surgery quickly and efficiently. Local anaesthetic patients can spend as little as 2 hours in hospital and are able to travel home on the same day in comfort. Do You Meet the Criteria for Hernia Surgery?

At Oxford Hernia Clinic, we specialise in hernia repairs under local anaesthetic — offering faster recovery, minimal discomfort, and a quicker return to normal activities.

✅ However, not every patient is suitable for local anaesthetic surgery at our practice our certain criteria must be met:

1️⃣ The hernia must be reducible — it can either go back in when lying flat or by gentle pressure.
2️⃣ The hernia size matters — it should not fully fill the sc***um, or if umbilical, ideally no larger than 4cm.
3️⃣ BMI below 30

We also specialise in the management and surgical treatments of sports hernia/groin strain ( Athletic Pubalgia )in association with internationally recognised expert medical colleagues.
