Oxford Aunts Care Providing home care throughout a wide area for over 50 years. This is just not true. It is very different with live-in care.

Our reputation is built on high standards of live-in care, local expertise and an approach to care delivery that has been trusted by thousands of families. EXPERIENCED CARERS WHO TRULY GET TO KNOW YOU
We are very proud of our dedicated carers, most of whom have worked for Oxford Aunts for many years. All our carers have previous care experience before they join us and we provide them with comprehe

nsive training before they come and care for you. Our carers will live with you to provide care and support for a longer period than might be offered by other live-in care providers. We know that this gives an opportunity for a strong relationship to be formed and a deeper understanding of our clients’ needs, both of which offer consistency and continuity of care. EXCEPTIONAL SPECIALIST CARE OF COMPLEX CONDITIONS
Unlike other local live-in care providers we are experts in providing specialist care of complex conditions that affect older people including dementia, Parkinson’s and Multiple Sclerosis (MS), or for those recovering from a stroke or for those who need cancer care or palliative care. All our carers are experienced in the care of conditions so you can be assured that care is highly personalised to your specific needs. THE HOME YOU LOVE IS BEST FOR PERSONALISED ONE-TO-ONE CARE
Many families in Oxfordshire, and throughout the country believe the only choice they have when a family member or loved one needs care is that they must leave their much-loved home and move into a care home. The Live-in Care Hub conducted a survey in 2017 and found that 97% of people given the choice, would prefer to carry on living in their own home with the support of a carer. Live-in care is becoming better understood and popular as a real alternative to moving into a residential home. With live-in care provided by Oxford Aunts you can be assured of a high-quality live-in care service provided by a trusted and established provider – a service that has benefited many families for many years. There are countless life-enriching benefits to staying at home with a highly trained and experienced carer who is dedicated to you, instead of facing the upset and worry of moving into a care or nursing home. With an Oxford Aunts carer you will be able to live life your way with as much independence as possible, with a tailored plan of care delivered by a compassionate carer on a one-to-one basis – this just simply cannot be offered in a care home. Life in a care home can be very restrictive – you will have little choice as to when you get up, when you eat your meals and when you can have visitors and socialise. We have been helping our clients to continue to live with freedom and choice that means they can lead a better quality of life with all the support they need. A FULLY MANAGED SERVICE PROVIDES PEACE OF MIND
At Oxford Aunts we know how worrying it can be when organising long term care – we just want our loved one to receive the best care and live a good life. When choosing a live-in care provider, you have a choice as to whether you use an introduction agency or fully managed service provider like Oxford Aunts. Our fully managed and regulated live-in care service means our carers are directly employed and managed by us whilst they are caring for you. They are supported by a care management team made up of care experts who ensure they are supervised and supported to provide the high standards of care our clients should expect. If you use an introduction agency you will be left to manage the carer, pay them and organise holiday cover once you are introduced to them and they start to care for you. For the many families that Oxford Aunts supports, we know this provides lots of reassurance whilst removing the burden of having to carefully manage the care arrangement for their family member or loved one.

We just received a lovely 5-star review on our Trustpilot ⭐️

"Oxford Aunts were so helpful from the very first phone call. They went out of their way to help us and Emily was just wonderful looking after my mother-in-law on my daughter’s wedding day. Wound have absolutely no hesitation in using them again." 💚

What is respite care? ☀️

Respite care is a short-term type of care that gives family members and caregivers a welcome break from their caregiving duties while a professional carer looks after their loved ones. This allows family carers to rest, relax and catch up on personal affairs so they can get back to their loved ones feeling rested and recharged.

Oxford Aunts x Witney Day Centre - Thursdays just got even better! 👏🏼

We’re excited to share that Oxford Aunts has teamed up with the fantastic team at Witney Day Centre to offer support every Thursday between 10am and 2.30pm.

Today, our Business Development Manager, Jason, went along to see the magic in action - and what a day it was! Things started off gently with a cuppa and a chat… but before he knew it, Jason found himself leading an exercise routine on stage! Let's just say he didn’t feel like the youngest in the room for long! 😅

There were games, quizzes, and a chance to speak with everyone about how Oxford Aunts supports people to live independently in the homes they love.

Then came lunch - homemade, donated, and absolutely delicious. The afternoon wrapped up with birthday celebrations and live music from some brilliant local performers, bringing the golden oldies and plenty of toe-tapping joy.

A huge thank you to Graeme, Linda and all the volunteers for the warm welcome and the incredible work they do for the community. We're proud to be involved.

See you next Thursday! 💚

What is live-in care?

Live-in care is when a carer stays with you in your home to provide around-the-clock support, allowing you or your loved one to remain in the place where many cherished memories have been made.

With the support of our care workers, you will be able to continue living your life according to your wishes, while maintaining your independence. Whether you require support for a complex condition such as dementia or Parkinson’s, or would simply like companionship and emotional support, our personalised live-in care could be the right option for you.

🐾 Burford’s Big Day Out – Community Connections in Action! 🐾

Yesterday, our mascot Burford Bear and Business Development Manager, Jason, went on a road trip across some of our favourite Oxfordshire spots to meet friends—old and new—and spread the word about the care we provide at Oxford Aunts

📍 First stop: the beautiful village of Brill, where Burford and Jason caught up with the amazing team at to discuss how we can work together to support local residents.

📍 Then they popped into Thame, visiting the brilliant team at Thame Barns Centre who run a host of community activities, before meeting the lovely Kate , who does a fantastic job bringing joy to the over-60s every Tues, Weds & Fri.

📍 Next stop - to explore ways we can help support their homeowners with flexible care options.

📍 Their last visit of the day was the welcoming Thame Masonic Hall, where we learned more about their wonderful weekly Friendship Café ☕

After such a packed day, Burford enjoyed a well-earned bowl of water and a relaxing sit in the sunshine 🐶🌞

💬 We’re proud to work alongside such brilliant organisations and individuals who care so deeply about their communities.

As the week continues, we’re reminded of something powerful: choice at the end of life is just as important as choice throughout life 💚

At Oxford Aunts, we’ve supported many individuals to remain in the place they love most, their home, as they reach the end of their life. Home is more than bricks and mortar. It’s the smell of your favourite meal, the photos on the wall, your own bed, your own rhythm.

Choosing to die at home isn’t always easy, but with the right support, it’s possible. Our live-in carers offer more than just care - they offer presence, warmth, and reassurance when it’s needed most.

This week is about starting conversations. So we’re asking:
👉 If it were your choice, where would you want to be?

Talking about it now can make all the difference later.

Dying Matters Awareness Week ~ At Oxford Aunts, we believe that where we die matters, just as much as how we live 🕊

This Dying Matters Awareness Week, we’re opening the conversation about something many find difficult to talk about: the end of life. For many, the chance to spend their final days in the comfort and familiarity of their own home - surrounded by loved ones, memories, and peace, is deeply meaningful.

Our experienced live-in carers provide compassionate, dignified end-of-life care in the home, tailored to the individual’s needs and wishes. We’re here to make sure no one faces the end of life alone or without choice.

💬 Let's talk about dying. Let’s make it easier for others to choose how and where they want to spend their final moments.

Our Story

Live-in care means you have a dedicated carer living with you at home. Older people benefit hugely - mentally and physically - from staying at home as opposed to residential care. It means they remain in familiar surroundings, amongst favourite possessions, perhaps in the family home, with a much-loved pet, or close to family and friends. Oxford Aunts Care is a specialist company that provides nurse-led, live-in homecare. Our name is synonymous with delivering trustworthy, cost-effective and high quality care. We have nearly half a century’s experience of live-in care and have built an excellent reputation. We work hard to maintain high standards of care. We are regulated and inspected by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). Oxford Aunts is also a founder member of The Live-in Homecare Information Hub and the UK Homecare Association (UKHCA) and has nearly 50 years’ experience providing live-in services. Generally, live-in carers will help with: mobility and personal safety, personal care, managing medication, shopping and cooking, housework, pet care, personal administration, driving and accompanying on outings, appointments and social activities. As well as the general care and support outlined, we can provide live-in services for more complex requirements, for people who have: • Dementia • Post-operative/convalescent or respite needs • Special communication needs • Sensory loss • Complex health care needs • Stroke • Palliative care needs • End of life care needs • Neurological conditions • Sudden onset conditions e.g. brain injury • Intermittent/unpredictable conditions e.g. MS • Progressive conditions e.g. early onset dementia • Stable neurological conditions e.g. cerebral palsy • Cardiac conditions • Respiratory conditions. We are not able to provide services to clients with spinal injury.
