After a brilliant day yesterday on the first day of our canine rehabilitation 2 day workshop, looking forward to day two!

Yesterday we were learning about the different exercises and how we can progress and regress these exercises safety and effectively.

Today we are moving on to using more challenging equipment and developing rehab plans for ortho and neuro cases.

Here goes day two 💪💪

A brilliant equine training day with final year Veterinary Physiotherapy Students yesterday.

There was a welcome feeling of spring in the air. The sun was shining and the birds were chirping 🐦☀️

Well done to the students that attended. A variety of stallions, youngsters and performance horses were assessed and treated.

Katie was very impressed with the standard of these students from Plumpton College

Our clinical shadowing days offer a rare opportunity to work 1-2-1 with Katie and cover all bases including manual treatments, electrotherapies and exercise rehab💪

Thank you to Broughton stud for having us to treat your beautiful horses ❤️💕

If you are a vet physio student and interested in clinical shadowing with Katie, drop us a DM 😊

We are delighted to be partnering with the team Broughton stud to provide dummy training for stallions and semen collection 🥳

Our dummy training programme is designed using evidence-based methods developed by Dr. Sue McDonnell, PhD, at the University of Pennsylvania’s New Bolton Center and presented at the American Association of Equine Practitioners Annual Convention.

Research demonstrates clear welfare advantages of dummy training over live covering. Using a stable, height-adjustable dummy minimises risk of musculoskeletal injury to stallions and mares and also prevents kicks and slips allowing for safer, calmer handling during semen collection.

The process also reduces disease transmission and maintains semen quality by reducing stress and frustration.

All training is delivered using progressive, positive-reinforcement techniques aligned with AAEP and New Bolton Center best-practice protocols, ensuring safety, welfare, and efficiency at every stage.

Please contact us or Broughton Stud directly for more details. Spaces are limited for training over the winter.

Dummy training season is upon us!

We are pleased to be able to offer dummy training at Broughton stud.

Reasons to dummy train:
- Reduced risk of injury to both stallion and handlers as mare not involved. Eliminates risk of kicks from a live mare.

- Can help competition stallions, associating collections with the dummy mare rather than live mares.

- Better hygiene. No risk of STI.

We have expert stallion handlers and semen collectors to give your stallion the best possible introduction, practising positive reinforcement.

Chilled semen extender testing is included in our dummy training.

Spaces are very limited please contact us for more details. We are based in Aylesbury, Bucks
