Trauma Care Trauma Care was founded in 1996 to address the need for commonly agreed standards of best clinical practice in the management of trauma.

We are the UK's leading trauma charity. Our aim is to help you help those in need. Trauma Care is the leading trauma charity. We are the only organisation that embraces and teaches all healthcare professionals in the care of trauma victims, from roadside to rehab. We were founded in 1996 to address the need for commonly agreed standards of best clinical practice in the management of trauma. We aim to improve the outcome of the trauma victim by establishing best practice throughout the whole chain of care. We achieve this through education, research and publishing. No other organisation encompasses the diverse specialities involved in care of trauma victims from the moment of injury, to the return to active life. We will help you help those in need.

🏃 Runner’s Spotlight: Matthew Wright 🌟
We are very proud of Matthew Wright, a Senior Scientist in the NHS who is running the London Marathon 2026 in support of Trauma Care UK. 💙

Matt is taking on his second marathon in memory of a much loved family member who passed away earlier this year after complications from a traumatic head injury.

He also wants to give a special shout out to his friend Bobby, who is running London 2026 via the ballot and has been helping him fundraise for this amazing cause. 🙌

🎉 Abstract Submissions Now Open for Trauma Care Conference 2026! 🎉

We're excited to celebrate our 30th year of Trauma Care Charity at the Trauma Care Conference 2026, taking place from March 9th –12th 2026 at the Yarnfield Conference Centre, Stone.

We’re now accepting poster abstracts on any aspect of trauma care from all healthcare professionals, registered, non-registered, and students. Whether your work is published or unpublished, we want to hear from you!

🏆 Daily poster prizes to be won!
📝 Abstracts must be no more than 300 words and follow standard headings.

Trauma care improves with the application of science. Previously, we believed that large volumes of crystalloid should be administered to treat hypovolaemic shock. This has changed with research and the dissemination of new knowledge.

Presentations, the way they are currently constructed and delivered, work much like those large volumes of crystalloid once did — they have an impact, but not the one that’s desired.
