Mindfulness Social Evenings are being created to provide Therapy through games, meditation, mindfulness exercises and informal group communication. A number of our team have or are continuing to live a life alongside the struggles with mental health. Our main aim for MSE is to help our service users to;
become more self-aware
feel calmer and less stressed
feel more able to choose how to respond t
o your thoughts and feelings
cope with difficult or unhelpful thoughts
be kinder towards yourself. We do this over a 2 hour session of ways which has a routine outlined below. Then we have a Check in followed by a 3 minute mindfulness Exercise. We then either watch an informative video clip or slideshow covering topics about mental health. We then have a break for a hot drink refill or snack. We follow this up with a game or challenge. This can be as individuals or as groups. Towards the end of the session we have a second mindfulness exercise or meditation and Check out.
