Dear Patients

Since October the government introduced an online consultation requirement and the practice would like to offer some clarity on how this works.

Our practice operates a total triage system rather than using Online Consultation solely for non-urgent requests, which is the contractual requirement.

Within our system, the Health Problem option is used to manage on-the-day clinical demand, allowing patients to submit urgent or same-day medical queries which are triaged by the clinical team. Once the daily clinical capacity for on-the-day demand has been reached, this option may be temporarily closed to ensure patient safety and safe workload management.

The Admin / Routine Care option remains available for routine and non-urgent patient requests and is open until 6:30pm, in line with contractual requirements.

Dear Patients

All GP Practices in East Lancashire are closed on Tuesday 3rd February 2026 from 1.00 pm - 6.30 pm for Protected Learning Time. This enables practices to provide dedicated training to their staff and to discuss and plan ways that will allow them to improve services, meet demand and support the wellbeing of staff.

If you feel your need is urgent and cannot wait until the following day provisions have been made for urgent triage, please call 111.

For all life-threatening medical emergencies during this time call 999.

For all routine requests for results, appointments, prescriptions, and general queries please contact the practice on Wednesday 4th February 2026.

We are going live with our new online requests on Monday 13th October. From this date all medical and administration requests will need to be submitted via our website or the NHS app. It is a very simple form to fill out so please do give it a go if you need to contact us.

Please try to give as much information as possible. If you do not have access to the internet or find it difficult to use a computer or smartphone, you can still call and speak to a receptionist who will assist you with the form.

From 13th October 2025 The new form will be on our website: https://www.padihammedicalcentre.co.uk. You will also be able to access this form by telephoning the surgery and selecting option 0 from the main menu.
