There is still so much stigma surrounding addiction—and it keeps people stuck.
When we view addiction through a narrow lens, we reinforce shame. People are left feeling unworthy, broken, or as though they deserve to be punished… and that only deepens the cycle.
But what if we responded differently?
What if we met people with compassion, curiosity, and understanding?
I’ve had the privilege of working with so many incredible individuals who have struggled with addictive behaviours—capable, thoughtful people who often find themselves wondering, “How did I get here?”
Through recovery coaching and compassionate inquiry, we begin to gently uncover the root causes. We start to understand why there’s a need to numb emotions or quiet the mind.
Very often, trauma sits beneath the surface.
And for some—especially those with neurodiverse conditions like ADHD—addictive patterns can be an attempt to find calm, focus, or relief from an overwhelmed mind.
This is where healing begins—not with judgment, but with awareness and compassion.
The Mindfulness-Based Addiction Recovery (MBAR) course offers a supportive, non-judgmental space to explore habitual thoughts and behaviours. Together, we cultivate awareness, deepen understanding, and develop practical tools to create meaningful change.
