Whether you are actively breastfeeding or just storing your milk, it has many uses! This post may be helpful to anyone who isn't sure what to do with all their milk.

Sometimes we forget that we have some stored in the freezer and even though it is out of date to give to baby to drink, it is still great for baths!

Breast milk has healing qualities and is great for gunky eyes, grazes and dry skin.

Some people even make special soaps using breast milk and oats for babies with eczema prone skin.

The fear surrounding the first poo after giving birth is real.

It is actually probably scarier than doing the actual poo itself!

Here are some tips to help when the time comes.

And don't forget to use your hypnobirthing techniques!! Breathe and relax.

The epidural is probably one of the more well-known measures of pain relief when it comes to birth.

But for those who don't know, it is where a large needle is inserted between two vertebrae in order to numb any discomfort from the waist downwards.

Pros:
- No pain during labour and childbirth.
- Can bring great relief to those who have been in labour for a long time and who need rest.
- Can reduce anxiety for those who are extremely fearful of giving birth.

Cons:
- A much higher liklihood of tearing.
- A much higher liklihood of needing further intervention for Mum and Baby.
- The drug can cause Baby to be sleepier at birth and can therefore affect feeding.
- Women can feel more out of control or disconnected from the birth.
- The injection itself can cause a lot of stress and pain.
- There can be lasting effects on the spine, with many women having long lasting pain and discomfort.

Choosing to have an epidural is a highly personal decision and should never be expected or forced. Like any decision during labour, it should be thought about and all risks fully explained by healthcare professionals so that an informed decision can be made.

I'd love to hear your own experiences of having an epidural! Please feel free to comment.

Sometimes birth can go wrong but usually it doesn't! Trust your body, do your research and prepare to have the birth that you want.

I love introducing all my hypno-babies but this one is extra special as he is also my new nephew!! โค

My brother and sister-in-law decided to do a full course with me after attending my Power Hour and realising that they still had so much to learn, even after doing an antenatal course.

One thing I loved about them was their openess to all possibilities about giving birth and as the course continued they mentioned that they quite liked the idea of a planned caesarean.

Some of the healthcare professionals they saw didn't like this idea, but I reminded my family members that it was their choice.

They ended up having a beautiful planned abdominal birth and felt so pleased with their decision that was best for them.

I am such a proud sister and auntie ๐Ÿ’•

All ๐Ÿ‘ Feelings ๐Ÿ‘ Are ๐Ÿ‘ Valid.

It is true when people say that all pregnancies are different.

We go through a whole host of emotions, thoughts and worries and very often we think we are the only person to have ever thought those things.

The truth is that NOT EVERYONE will have felt the same as you, but MANY people will have.

So I'm here to say,

It is OK to fear pregnancy, birth or maybe being a mother.

It is OK to have gender disappointment.

It is OK to not want your body to change.

It is OK to tell people when YOU are ready.

It is OK to gain weight!

It is OK to feel anxious and insecure.

It is OK to have no idea how you're going to look after a tiny human.

Whatever you feel, IT IS OK.

Birth preparation cannot get rid of every single worry, fear or thought but it can certainly help. BEING INFORMED CAN HELP YOU BE EMPOWERED.

Introducing hypnobaby Ava! I absolutely loved working with this couple and to see they had such a wonderful experience is truly heartwarming. Remember, birth preparation is for every birth- even Caesarean births!

"Sophie,

Wow where do I start with this message? I guess a good place to start would be to introduce baby Ava to you who arrived on Monday 13th September via c section, 3 weeks early. As you know my previous pregnancy left me pretty scarred after the traumatic experience however your course made me realise I could absolutely do it again and I was determined that it would all be ok this time and I would get the birth I deserved. Around 28 weeks my pregnancy hit a hurdle when I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes however your training helped me to stay calm and in the right frame of mind for a while, when I started struggling mentally a few weeks ago I reached out to you and once again you made me realise that although it was looking likely this time Iโ€™d have a c section it would still be a beautiful birth and I could still have it as I wanted.
Which brings me to the birth, the night before my anxiety was sky high and I was struggling, I listened to the MP3โ€™s you had sent which helped to calm me and I managed to drift off to sleep, I awoke on the morning and was as calm as can be, I used all the techniques you had taught to stay calm and relaxed and enjoy the experience and I can truly say that Avaโ€™s birth was incredible! I had the drapes down and I watched my beautiful daughter come into the world, we did delayed cord clamping and then immediate skin to skin with daddy first and then myself, I had the monitors on my back so they didnโ€™t disturb skin to skin then we enjoyed the golden hour together. My experience was no doubt made better by the course I did with you and I will never be able to say thank you and repay you for all that you have done for me. Although I didnโ€™t get the birth I thought I wanted, Avaโ€™s birth will always be my favourite of the two as the experience was a million times better than my first experience - I just wish I had found you before my first birth! Thank you, thank you, thank you from the bottom of my heart. Xx"
