This is great news! It has always been a source of puzzlement and frustration to me throughout my counselling career that the ONE area I was legally prohibited from offering counselling support was around adoption (registering with Ofsted was prohibitively complex and hugely costly for an independent therapist).
Now, I know every person and every situation is different … but having been adopted myself at a very early age, and as an adult having traced my original birth parents, I do have some insight into the issues around adoption!
This recent change in the law really opens the door to people being able to choose which counsellor or therapist they want to work with :-)
