Today is our final working day before the Christmas break. As the year draws to a close, we know this period can bring a mix of emotions, reflections, and challenges for many people. If you have been considering reaching out for support, today is a good time to get in touch so we can help guide you before we close.

Our clinic will be closed from the end of today, Friday 19 December, and we will reopen on Monday 5 January. During this time, our team will not be monitoring enquiries, but we will respond as soon as possible once we return in the new year.

If you need urgent emotional support while we are closed, we encourage you to contact your GP, NHS 111, or local crisis services. You can also find information about support options and our services on our website at https://thedevonclinic.co.uk

We wish you a gentle Christmas period and look forward to supporting you again in January.

We would like to say a heartfelt thank you to G12 Business Networking Club and everyone who attended their Christmas lunch for choosing to support The Devon Clinic as their charity of the year. Thanks to the generosity of those who took part, £210 was raised to support our work with individuals and families across Devon.

Support like this helps us continue providing accessible therapeutic care within our community and reminds us how powerful local connections and shared values can be. Events like this are about more than fundraising. They show what is possible when people come together with kindness and intention.

You can read more about the G12 Business Club Christmas lunch and the impact of their generous contributions in the article here: https://g12businessclub.co.uk/g12-business-club-christmas-lunch-raises-210-for-the-devon-clinic/

If you are a holistic or talking therapy practitioner, the space you work from matters more than you might think. The environment shapes how clients feel when they arrive, how supported they feel during sessions, and how sustainable your own practice becomes over time.

At The Devon Clinic in Paignton, we offer more than just room hire. Practitioners work from calm, welcoming spaces, alongside experienced professionals, within a community interest organisation that puts people first. It is a setting designed to support ethical, high quality therapy work while helping practitioners feel connected rather than isolated.

If you are exploring your next step, this blog explains why so many practitioners choose The Devon Clinic as the base for their holistic therapy practice.

We are pleased to be hosting an Introduction to Hypnotherapy evening here at The Devon Clinic, delivered by Devon School of Hypnotherapy. Many people arrive at the start of a new year with a quiet sense that something needs to change, whether that is learning a new skill, exploring a different career path, or finding work that feels more meaningful and people focused.

Led by experienced hypnotherapist and trainer Chris Fleet from The Devon School of Hypnotherapy, it also provides insight into professional hypnotherapy training and what is involved in building a practice that genuinely helps others.

The session takes place here at The Devon Clinic on January 8th from 6pm to 8pm. Places are limited and must be booked in advance. If this feels like something you would like to explore, you can find full details and book your place here:

December can bring a mix of pressure, expectation, and emotional fatigue.

Between end-of-year deadlines, family commitments, and the social pressure to feel festive, it’s easy to lose sight of your own wellbeing. If you’re finding this time of year heavier than usual, you’re not alone. Many people feel stretched thin as routines shift and emotions rise.

Our therapists offer a calm, supportive space to help you process stress, anxiety, grief, or anything else that feels difficult right now. You do not need to wait until January to ask for help.

What’s one small thing you can do this week to look after yourself?

What if 2026 was the year you finally felt wired for better — not just surviving, but performing, recovering, and growing with intention? 👀✨

I’m so excited to finally share this… my new programme series Wired for Better is officially launching soon — and it’s built for people who want more than quick fixes.
It’s for those ready to understand their mind–body wiring, activate their RAS, regulate under pressure, and create emotional resilience that actually lasts.

Over the last year, I’ve poured everything into this: neuroscience, behaviour change, nervous system regulation, identity shifts, and the practical tools I use with clients every day. And seeing it come together… genuinely feels like a career milestone. 🔥

If you’ve been waiting for something grounded, research-led, practical and human — this is it.

If you’re curious, want early details, or feel a “yes” in your body… DM me or complete the interest form:

https://forms.gle/wCG99sp8DTBUSH9r9

I’d love to have you in the room.

A little personal note:
Creating this programme has reminded me how much our systems change when we choose to change with them — slowly, consistently, compassionately. That’s the heart of Wired for Better. 💛

Local businesses across Paignton, Torbay and South Devon are increasingly recognising the value of supporting staff wellbeing, and there are practical ways to make a real difference. The Devon Clinic offers workplace wellbeing partnerships that give teams access to confidential counselling, wellbeing Q and A sessions, optional one to one check ins in person or via Zoom, and an anonymous workplace assessment to help employers understand where support may be needed. This creates a more open and supportive environment and shows staff that their wellbeing is taken seriously.

Businesses can also contribute to community mental health by making a charitable donation, which helps keep counselling services accessible for those who need them most. Limited companies can receive Corporation Tax relief on qualifying donations, making this a meaningful and financially beneficial way to give back.

You can read more about how local businesses can get involved in our latest blog: https://devonclinic.co.uk/local-businesses-supporting-mental-health/

Today is the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women.

It is a moment to recognise the women who have lived through abuse, and to raise awareness of the support available for those carrying the emotional impact of trauma.

The Devon Clinic provides a safe, confidential space for anyone affected by domestic abuse, coercive control, childhood trauma, or long-term trauma responses such as anxiety, hypervigilance, flashbacks, or dissociation.

Our team of trauma-informed therapists work gently and compassionately, helping people rebuild safety, connection, and confidence at their own pace.
