✨Upcoming Free Community Classes✨

I know that the cost of living is really intense just now, and it is becoming harder and harder to afford the essentials. Meaning that self-care and wellbeing can be bottom the priority list!

Thrive and Belong CIC exists to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to take part in activities that promote wellbeing.

If cost is a barrier to you participating in yoga, I would love to welcome you to these classes. No explanation needed, no judgement.

Spaces are extremely limited, get in touch to book your space! 🩷

It was a real joy to facilitate a yoga session with Kairos Women+ Wellness Group. They were the loveliest group of people. Some a bit nervous as they had never done yoga before, and they were a bit worried that yoga might not be "for them". But everyone gave it a try and seemed to be happy they did!

We adapted the practice to suit those participating, with a mixture of mat-based and chair-based options with the core message that everything offered was an invitiation. Individuals are always empowered to do what feels best in their body! We ended with some grounding breathwork and guided meditation.

I was also delighted to attend my first Renfrewshire Wellbeing Network meeting hosted by Engage Renfrewshire and Renfrewshire Health and Social Care Partnership. It's always great to network, and we had some great chats about therapeutic community yoga programmes and potential partnership working opportunities.

Looking forward to building on these connections!

The end of an era 🩷

Tomorrow is my last day working for Who Cares? Scotland and I'm feeling reflective.

Back in 2016 I was working in a role with a fixed-term contract which there was no funding to renew. I was applying for different roles and I got invited to interview for the one I really wanted. It was a local authority position with great salary, hours, working conditions, security, pension etc. On paper, my perfect job.

My interview for Who Cares? Scotland came first. I had always admired the work of the organisation having previously worked in residential care, but the terms of the role weren't as good as the other one and so it wasn't my preferred option.

Until I stepped in the door.

By the end of the interview, I was 100% certain that Who Cares? Scotland was the place for me and went home to withdraw from the other process.

I could tell that this was a unique place, made up of very unique people. As I waited to go into the interview I was surrounded on a sofa by colleagues having bacon rolls and laughing. It wasn't just the genuine care for each other that drew me in, it was their obvious passion for wanting to make the world a better place.

I don't think I could actually have anticipated how amazing the years to come would be. Serving our Care Experienced members has been an honour and a privilege I am so grateful to have had. Surrounded by the best team of colleagues, whose passion, dedication, talent and love has always inspired me. Working with amazing partners both in the community and nationally. I have made memories, connections and relationships that will last a lifetime.

I promise, our mission of a lifetime of equality, respect and love for Care Experienced people is etched into my heart. And it will continue to guide everything I do next.

I am so grateful to 25 year old me for trusting her gut instinct, especially when it made no logical sense. I hope she's proud of the leap I am taking now 🩷

A yoga perspective on New Year intention setting! What are your intentions for 2026, and how can they bring you closer to the truth of who you really are?

03/01/2026

As it's a new year I thought I'd introduce myself properly ☺️!

I'm Lynsey, and I founded Thrive and Belong CIC because I believe that yoga is for everyone. The cost of living is rising higher than wages and it's not acceptable to me that cost is a barrier to anyone experiencing the benefits of yoga. Look out for more free community offerings next year!

I'm a yoga teacher and empowerment coach, specialising in nervous system regulation.

I'll be honest, when you come to my classes and workshops, I don't care if you can touch your toes.

I care that you feel welcomed, comfortable and like you belong. I care that you float out of the door at the end feeling a bit lighter than you did when you arrived. I care that what I teach you carries into your life off the mat, helping you sleep better, feel calmer and more centred in your daily life.

And if you end up touching your toes, that's a bonus!

Thank you to everyone who has been a part of our community so far, and looking forward to welcoming many more of you in 2026! ✨

How much can you transform in a year? Turns out…quite a bit!

So much has changed and shifted for me since last year and I’m so grateful for a year of highs, lows and lessons.

☀️ A beautiful holiday in Italy with my two favourite people. A sacred week, just the 3 of us, to spend quality time together and make memories. We haven’t done enough of that in 2025, I am already taking steps to fix this for next year.

🪷 Founding and beginning to offer free community yoga classes. So much more to come next year 🩷

🧠 Finishing my certification in Applied Polyvagal Theory in Therapeutic Yoga for Trauma Recovery. I’ll be offering programmes in this next year - watch this space!

🩷 Finding my yoga home at Eastern Promise in Paisley, A truly beautiful space with the perfect energy for what my offerings have always intended - a transformation that goes beyond just “stretching”. Thank you to my beautiful mother-in-law Debbie for having us, and for all of your support with…everything!

🧘‍♀️ From hen party yoga, yoga for sleep workshops to beginner yoga programme and 8 limbs of yoga programme and so many new classes! Welcoming many beautiful souls into this community, and celebrating those who have been with me for many years has been a true highlight.

❤️‍🩹 Learning (the hard way) about the importance of rest and taking responsibility for my own health.

🌸 Discovering new rituals and practices and recommitting to my existing practices. Spending lots of time in nature, remembering what matters.

💪 Lots of opportunities to push myself out my comfort zone and do things that scare me. I’ve done things I didn’t know I could, and remembered what I had long forgotten I had within me.

✨I am so grateful to everyone who has supported me and my business this year. My life is richer for having you in it! Thanks as always to all of my family and friends, your support means everything. Wishing you all the happiest of New Years when it comes and I hope that 2026 is a belter for us all! ✨

What experiences, lessons and relationships are you celebrating from 2025?

If you’ve ever felt curious about yoga but unsure where you’d fit, this is for you.

This 8-week Beginner Yoga Programme is a gentle, supportive introduction to yoga, created for people who want to feel more confident in their body and mind, without pressure or expectation.

We move slowly, break things down, and take time to explore not just postures, but breath, rest and awareness.

Each session includes movement, pranayama, guided meditation and time to settle, with optional Reiki offered during rest.

The group is kept small (max 5 people) so everyone feels supported and able to ask questions. Past participants have shared that they felt calmer, more confident, and able to use what they learned in everyday life.

Starts 15 January
📍 Eastern Promise, Paisley
💷 £120 for the full programme

If you’ve been waiting for a sign that yoga can be for you - this might be it!

Before each class, I take time to set the space and gently bless the room with Reiki, creating a calm, supportive environment before anyone arrives.

From there, the focus is on yoga that feels accessible, welcoming and human.

My Beginner Yoga Programme is for anyone who’s curious about yoga but has felt unsure, intimidated or worried they “can’t do it”. Each week we move slowly, break things down, link breath with movement, practice meditation and breathwork and explore simple yoga philosophy to help take the learning off the mat and into daily life.

The group is intentionally small so there’s space to ask questions, learn at your own pace and feel supported. Gentle Reiki is also offered during rest at the end of class, always optional.
