🎨🕊️ Honoring Frida Kahlo 🕊️🎨
As many of you know, we’re currently running our Art as Therapy sessions — celebrating the comfort and healing that creative, gentle hobbies can bring to those living with Fibromyalgia.
In that spirit, today we remember the extraordinary Frida Kahlo on what would have been her birthday.
A woman who turned pain into power and suffering into unforgettable art.
Frida endured a lifetime of physical hardship — from childhood polio to a devastating bus accident at 18, and chronic illnesses, including symptoms resembling Fibromyalgia.
Yet she poured her experience into more than 140 pieces of raw, revolutionary, and deeply personal art.
🔥 Despite her illness, Frida:
Reimagined identity, beauty, and womanhood on her own terms
Spoke openly about pain, disability, and mental health when few dared
Became an enduring icon of feminism, culture, and resilience
Showed the world that strength and vulnerability can live side by side
“I am not sick. I am broken. But I am happy as long as I can paint.” – Frida Kahlo
Frida didn’t just survive — she created through it.
She didn’t hide her suffering — she gave it a voice.
And in doing so, she helped others find theirs.
Has your pain given you a voice, or a passion?
Let us know — share your story, your art, or your reflection.
Together, we continue Frida’s legacy of healing through expression. 💜
