💙 Blue Monday: A Rolling Stone Gathers No Moss… but Claire Did! 🐶💛
Today is known as Blue Monday — a day when many people may feel a little lower than usual.
For those living with fibromyalgia, tough days can happen anytime, not just in January.
So today, we want to share a little light…
✨ Meet Moss — Claire’s new puppy.
Soft, steady, and an expert in slowing life down.
While “a rolling stone gathers no moss,” we think that’s exactly why Moss came into our world — to remind us all to pause, breathe, and take things at a gentler pace.
On a day like today, when the world feels heavy:
💛 Be more Moss.
Rest without guilt.
Seek comfort.
Be kind to yourself.
Let go of the rush.
Blue Monday doesn’t define you — and you don’t have to face it alone.
We’re here, Moss is here, and brighter days are ahead. 🐾

🦋 Our butterfly badges represent strength, resilience, and visibility.
Living with fibromyalgia often means carrying pain and fatigue that others can’t see. These badges are a gentle way to say “I’m living with an invisible condition — please be patient.”

By wearing a butterfly badge, you’re helping to raise awareness, start conversations, and remind others that chronic illness doesn’t always look the way people expect.

💜 Invisible doesn’t mean imaginary.
Thank you for helping us spread understanding, compassion, and fibro awareness.

Living with fibromyalgia can feel like having a phone battery that never fully charges. You might start the day at 100%, but within hours — or even minutes — your energy drains rapidly, often without warning. Tasks that seem small to others can use up far more power than expected.

Just like a phone on low battery, pushing yourself when your energy is depleted can cause everything to slow down or shut off completely. Pain increases, concentration drops, and fatigue takes over. No amount of willpower can override that empty battery.

Fibromyalgia forces you to manage your energy carefully, choosing when to “use power” and when to recharge. Rest isn’t laziness — it’s essential. Understanding this helps explain why people living with fibromyalgia need flexibility, patience, and compassion when navigating daily life with an invisible illness.

Fibromyalgia is a long-term condition that causes widespread pain, fatigue, sleep problems, and cognitive difficulties, sometimes known as “fibro fog.” Symptoms can vary greatly from person to person and may flare up due to stress, illness, or changes in weather.

It’s estimated that around 1 in 20 people in the UK live with fibromyalgia, meaning millions are affected. Despite how common it is, fibro is often misunderstood and under-recognised. Anyone can develop fibromyalgia, regardless of age or gender, although it is more commonly diagnosed in women.

Raising awareness is essential to improving understanding, support, and access to appropriate care for those living with fibromyalgia every day.

International Thank You Day.....🙏
Is celebrated annually on January 11th as a global reminder to express gratitude and appreciation for the people and kindnesses in our lives, fostering stronger relationships. It's a perfect time at the start of the year to acknowledge friends, family, colleagues, and mentors, encouraging a culture of empathy and through simple acts of saying "thank you".
So..... THANK YOU!🙏

Cold weather can be really tough with fibromyalgia, so you’re not alone in feeling this. Cold often increases pain, stiffness, fatigue, and flare-ups. Here are practical, fibro-friendly tips that many people find genuinely helpful:

🌡️ Keep Warm (but gently)

Layer clothing rather than wearing one heavy item — it traps heat better

Choose thermal, soft fabrics (cotton, bamboo, fleece) to avoid skin irritation

Keep your neck, hands, and feet warm — these areas affect whole-body temperature

Wear gloves indoors if needed (this is more common than people admit!)

🔥 Heat Therapy Is Your Friend

Heated blankets or throws (especially in the evening)

Hot water bottles or microwave heat packs for painful areas

Warm showers or baths — great for morning stiffness

Use moist heat if possible; it penetrates muscles better than dry heat

⚠️ Avoid very high heat for long periods — gentle and consistent works best.

🧘‍♀️ Keep Moving (even when you don’t want to)

Cold makes muscles tighten, which increases pain.

Try gentle stretching morning and night

Short walks indoors or outside (wrapped up)

Yoga, tai chi, or light mobility exercises help keep joints loose

Move little and often — avoid staying still for long periods

💤 Prioritise Rest & Energy

Cold weather can increase fatigue:

Pace yourself — don’t try to “push through”

Build rest breaks into your day

Listen to your body during flare-ups (rest is not failure)

💙 Thank you, Chronic Insights 💙

We’re pleased to share a fundraising story from Chronic Insights, a symptom diary app created by James, who lives with chronic pain himself.

James donates 10% of app subscription revenue each year to UK charities chosen by users, and we’re proud to say Fibromyalgia Action UK received £117 through this initiative.
