Kenneth Keegan Independent Funeral Directors Local Independent Funeral Directors serving Paisley and Renfrewshire. Providing a caring service at

After ten years of working for a large national company of funeral directors – gaining my advance diploma in Funeral Directing in August 2006, I made the decision to open my own independent funeral home in Paisley, Renfrewshire. I took this decision as I passionately believe families and their loved one’s should be our top priority. I believe that all bereaved families deserve a local funeral director who can offer flexibility in all aspects of the service they provide, allowing arrangements to be tailored to their personal wishes at an affordable cost and best value to them. At Kenneth Keegan Independent Funeral Directors we consider it an honour that a family makes the decision to entrust their loved one into our care. We take great pride in all we do and we’re proud to be able to offer this dignified, professional service. Being totally independent gives us flexibility to manage the funeral home at a local level which can directly affect the service we provide to our clients and the wider community. Kenneth Keegan Independent Funeral Directors is an appointed representative of Golden Charter Limited trading as Golden Charter Funeral Plans which is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FRN:965279).

Today we were visited by Paul from Renfrewshire Food Giveway who stopped by to collect some prizes donated for their upcoming raffle.

The raffle will hopefully raise some much needed funds to help Renfrewshire Food Giveaway deliver food parcels to those needing a little help this Christmas.

A huge thank you to everyone who voted and commented on our recent poll about funeral limousines!

We were overwhelmed by your thoughtful responses and appreciate you taking the time to contribute your opinions.
Your feedback is so helpful as we think about the future of our ceremonial fleet.

Speaking of which, did anyone else notice the vehicles in the news yesterday from the late Ozzy Osbourne's funeral procession? It was fascinating to see no traditional limousines, with alternative V-Class vehicles in their place—a perfect example of the trend we were discussing!

We'll be taking all your feedback into consideration as we plan for the future. Thank you again!

Navigating Change in Funeral Transport: We Need Your Input!

As society evolves, so do the ways we say our final goodbyes. From non-religious ceremonies to woodland burials, there's more choice than ever before when it comes to personalising a funeral.

This extends to transport too, with options from traditional horse-drawn hearses to modern motor vehicles. We believe choice is a good thing – because no two lives are the same, why should our funerals be?

However, we're encountering a growing challenge in one specific area: limousines for families. The availability of suitable models for conversion is shrinking, and those that remain are becoming incredibly expensive. We're talking an estimated £150,000 - £165,000 for a single new limousine! For funeral directors with multiple vehicles, these costs quickly add up, inevitably impacting funeral expenses for families.

So, we're faced with a dilemma: continue purchasing these traditional, high-cost limousines, which could lead to increased funeral costs for you, or explore alternatives that still offer the practical space and dignified presence needed.

We've been looking at options like the Mercedes V-Class. It offers the same eight-seat capacity as a traditional limousine and is approximately half the cost. But the big question is: would you feel comfortable and appropriately transported in a vehicle like this for a funeral cortège?
We're genuinely curious to hear your thoughts, as your comfort and preferences are paramount. We’ve created a poll to gather opinions on the best way forward for funeral directors.

Please vote on which option you believe is best by leaving 1 or 2 in the comments from the options below.

* Option 1: Funeral directors continue to purchase the more expensive, traditional limousines, accepting potential increases in funeral costs for clients.

* Option 2: Funeral directors adopt alternative vehicles, like the Mercedes V-Class, to maintain or potentially lower current costs for clients.

Your feedback is invaluable in helping us make these important decisions. Thank you for taking the time to share your perspective!

Father's Day can be a beautiful day of celebration for many, but for some, it's a day that highlights a significant loss.

We remember with fondness and gratitude the fathers who are no longer with us. Though they may be gone, the love they gave and the memories they created continue to resonate, shaping who we are today. Their spirit endures.

And to those who are missing their fathers this Father's Day, we understand the unique ache of their absence. May you find comfort in the cherished memories and the enduring love that connects you. We're thinking of you.

Please share a memory of your dad in the comments if you feel comfortable
