As we move into the busy period of the year, I'm hoping that most of you already have your next appointment in the diary. I would like to mention though, that unfortunately last minute cancellations still happen in December. Please feel free to reach out if you are still looking to book something in before the festivities. If I don't have the availability at the moment, I can put your name onto a cancellation list in case anything becomes free.

and the first class of 2026 will be Wednesday the 7th at 6.30pm

November Monthly Tip
Whenever I hold a yoga workshop I always encourage participants to do a little bit of homework in between the sessions. My hopes are that this will help them to develop their own personal practice rather than only unrolling a mat when they come to class. I find the best way to encourage this, is by explaining that you don’t always have to unroll your mat to do yoga asanas. I would like to mention here that a personal practice is about so much more than just the physical asanas, but for this tip that is what I’m going to concentrate on.
If you have read my tips before you may recall me explaining how simple it is to practice Tadasana, Mountain Pose in your daily life. Any time you find yourself having to stand still it is the perfect pose to take, and packs a huge amount of posture and strengthening benefits. If you happen to be on your own (or not) add an element of balance to the mix, perhaps while waiting for the kettle to boil or cleaning your teeth.
One of my personal favourites is Standing Cat Cow while taking your morning shower.
Targeting your pelvic floor is the perfect accompaniment to sitting on a bus, a train or traffic lights.
Chaturanga Dandasana the yogi push up can be practiced against a wall, a worktop, window ledge or desk.
Virabhadrasana 2 Warrior 2 against a wall really helps you work into opening up the front of the hips.

Sometimes you get really lucky and get the opportunity to practice yoga in a place that really helps you to challenge your balance!
I really could go on all day. Obviously, if you have the space and time to unroll your mat, the therapeutic benefits for the mind and body are enhanced even more by choosing to take some time out of your busy day for yourself. Not overwhelming yourself by feeling you have to spend at least 30 minutes on your practice, simply giving over 10 minutes to some simple postures, or a few sun salutations, will often lead to you spending closer to 30 minutes and loving every minute of it. Yoga should never feel like a chore.
I can honestly say I have never regretted making time for myself and my yoga. Having a little less time to do the housework or some other task which would benefit my body and mind in no way whatsoever, has never felt like a huge loss.
