Day three of Lymphoedema Looks Like This, please share.

04/03/2026

Hi everyone! I am a UK-based PhD researcher looking at how a resistance training programme can be co-designed to improve health-related quality of life in adults with fibromyalgia.

As part of this research, I am recruiting participants to take part in an online survey (approximately 5-10 minutes) and optional interview, aiming to understand the barriers and facilitators to resistance training in adults with fibromyalgia. This research will be used to aid the development of an exercise programme which is tailored around complex symptoms.

👤Who can participate?
Adults aged between 18-59 years old, has been diagnosed with fibromyalgia, and has never tried resistance training before.

*Please note: you do not need to have any experience with engaging in any type of resistance training exercises to complete this survey.*

If you’re interested, please follow this link to learn more, read the participant information sheet, and complete the survey:

It's been quiet here on facebook but not in the clinic room. In the meantime I have completed a rigorous course in Oncology Massage with the dynamic Susan Findlay. Passed and certified (not certifiable ... well, maybe 😆) to assist those with cancer to live the best life possible. That's my hope and intention for all who come through the door.

Do you know the health of your lymphatic system? I don't think this gets discussed enough!

Taking good care of our lymphatic system is extremely important - especially after a diagnosis of breast cancer. It's also important if you are actively engaged in staying healthy.

This is because our lymphatic system acts as one of the garbage collection services of the body (I always envision little men in white scrubbing away). 😆

The lymphatic system is responsible for getting rid of invaders and gunk. It is a primary defense against infection and disease, and the interaction between the immune cells in lymph nodes and cancer cells is a key factor in the body's response to cancer.

Lymphatic stagnation is a hidden cause of things like fatigue, inflammation, brain fog, swelling, and a poorly functioning immune system.

Our lymphatic system relies on movement, deep breathing and good hydration.

Here are some things you can do to support your lymphatic system:
1. Daily movement - walking, stretching, yoga, bouncing on a mini trampoline
2. Hydrate with lemon water and minerals
3. Make a point to sweat regularly with hot baths, saunas, exercise
4. Dry brushing and lymphatic massage
5. Deep breathing
6. Herbal medicine to support the lymphatic system (burdock, cleavers, red clover, poke root, calendula)

I hope that helps!

Our Story

My name is Viv and I offer Remedial Massage, Sports Massage, Swedish Massage, Indian Head Massage, On-site acupressure massage, pregnancy massage, infant massage and couples massage workshops.

Having had a child with a serious illness, I am passionate about using my skills to facilitate healing in whatever way I can. There are so many scenario’s where it would be lovely for someone else to expertly and considerately take care of your wellbeing for a change. The support of a good therapist can make all the difference in the world! Perhaps its a stiff back and neck. Maybe you're a new mum and all that car seat lifting and late night feeding are causing shoulder and back pain. Too many hours in front of the computer or behind the wheel stressing you out. Are you training for a marathon or trying to improve your fitness? Maybe you just need space to rest and recuperate.

Whether you are very familiar with the world of massage or just want to try a new approach to self care - any reason will do if it means you come away refreshed, refocused and connected - that’s why I’m here!

I am happy to answer any questions you may have and appointment times are flexible so you can find a time that suits you. Any appointments booked are tailored to YOU and what your body needs! So why not get in touch and book an appointment today?
