We wish to offer our encouragement and support to anyone working towards new year resolutions this year. Making changes or starting new things can be difficult, but just deciding to try is extremely brave. As you work towards your resolutions, be patient with yourself and try to find encouragement in even the little moves you make. And even if you aren't able to do what you hoped, you should be proud of yourself. đź’ś

Best of luck with whatever you are working towards and with whatever else you decide to do this year!

World Mental Health Day serves as a powerful reminder that there is no health without mental health. This year’s campaign emphasises the urgent need to support the mental health and psychosocial needs of people affected by humanitarian emergencies.

Crises such as natural disasters, conflicts, and public health emergencies cause emotional distress, with one in five individuals experiencing a mental health condition. Supporting the mental well-being of individuals during such crises is not just important – it saves lives, gives people the strength to cope, the space to heal, and the opportunity to recover and rebuild not only as individuals but as communities. That’s why it is essential for everyone, including government officials, health and social care providers, school staff, and community groups, to come together. By working hand in hand, we can ensure the most vulnerable have access to the support they need while safeguarding everyone's well-being.

We’re starting a new project called Momentum Works!

The aim of this initiative is to provide help for people with bipolar in the workplace. We hope to arm people with the skills needed to identify and manage bipolar related challenges at work that could result in an episode of illness.

There will be a wealth of resources available, from mentorships and peer support to workplace support and training, crisis planning and good solid practical advice for those who are employed and also specific guidance for those who are self employed.

If this sounds good to you, then feel free to drop us a line at info@bipolarscotland.org.uk and we’ll get you going.
