Loving this new chapter for 🌀✨
Stepping into my new therapy space, .paisley, I send Reiki energy to the room. I chose the walls this teal like colour as ever since I was a child I had a fascination with shades of blue and green on the colour wheel.
There are of course associations of such shades to ‘feeling blue’ as well as of deep waters, of the sky at night and of feeling calm and at peace.
More than anything, my intention is this room holds compassion, courage, and the belief that even in life’s heaviest seasons, growth is possible.
I’m feeling deeply grateful to welcome my clients here and to sit together, to listen, to reflect, and to support meaningful change through psychotherapy.
As part of my clinical training, I did 40 hours of personal therapy alongside my work as a therapist. I have no shame in saying I too went to therapy before that time. Let’s normalise therapy!
I know what it can feel like to walk into a therapist’s space and to experience the nervousness of talking to a stranger for the first time. This is why I wanted to create a space that felt less clinical and more homely.
My work as a therapist is also shaped by the environmental factors which play parts in our stories, so telling a snippet of how this room came into being I thought to share. As that is what Seomra means: room.
