Letting go isn’t weakness, it’s self-respect.
You don’t need to carry what’s been weighing you down just to prove you can.

Some things aren’t meant to be fixed, understood, or held onto forever.
And that’s okay.

Choose peace. Every single time.

✨🐉 Happy St. George’s Day 🐉✨

St. George’s Day celebrates England’s patron saint and is a symbol of courage, protection, and standing strong in the face of challenges, a day of courage and inner strength for all. While the legend speaks of slaying dragons, we know those dragons aren’t real, but the inner battles we face each day truly are.

In Reiki, we often focus on gently releasing what no longer serves us… our own “dragons” in a way. Today is a beautiful moment to pause, reconnect, and restore balance within.

🌿 Take a moment to breathe and reset your energy
🌿 Set an intention for courage and clarity
🌿 Allow yourself to feel grounded, supported, and strong

You already carry everything you need within you.

Sending you Reiki healing energy, peace, and strength today 💫

A man once saw a butterfly struggling to break out of its cocoon.

It looked painful. Slow. Unfair.

So he decided to help.

With good intentions, he gently opened the cocoon for it.

The butterfly came out easily… but its wings were weak. It never learned to fly.

What he didn’t realize is this:

The struggle wasn’t a problem. It was the process.

That pressure the fight to get out is what strengthens the wings.

Without it, the butterfly doesn’t develop what it needs to survive.

Sometimes, what looks like suffering is actually growth in disguise.

And sometimes, helping too soon doesn’t heal, it interrupts.

Real empathy isn’t always stepping in.

Sometimes it’s having the patience to step back.

To let people face what they need to face.

To trust that they’re becoming stronger, even if it’s uncomfortable to watch.

Support them. Stand by them.

But don’t take away the very thing that’s shaping them.

Not every struggle is meant to be removed.

Some are meant to be lived through.

We need more empathy and compassion in this world.
But there’s a difference between the two.
Too much empathy can pull you into someone else’s struggle so deeply that you lose your clarity… and your energy.
Compassion, on the other hand, allows you to care without carrying.
When we overextend empathy, we sometimes interrupt lessons that aren’t ours to take on.
And those same lessons will keep returning again and again until they’re learned.
Leaving you drained, trying to fix what was never yours to fix.
Care deeply.
But don’t lose yourself in the process.

A student once asked his master, “Why do I keep failing, no matter how hard I try?”

The master smiled and pointed to a bamboo tree.

“Do you see this bamboo?” he said.

“When you plant its seed, nothing happens for years. Five years pass no visible growth. You water it every day. You give it sunlight. Still, nothing. People may even laugh at you.”

“But in the fifth year, something incredible happens. The bamboo shoots up, up to 60 feet in just six weeks.”

The master looked at the student and said:

“It wasn’t growing above the ground all that time. It was growing below it. The roots were getting stronger, deeper, more stable so when it finally rose, no storm could bring it down.”

“Your time will come too.”

Just because you can’t see progress doesn’t mean it isn’t happening.

Be patient. Keep watering your dreams.

Your roots are growing and one day, your rise will be unstoppable.

The Reiki School Reiki Master Teacher Victoria Banning
Hello, I’m Vicky (CNHC Reg), the owner of The Reiki School and a Reiki Master in the direct lineage of Mikao Usui.

I support people who are feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or emotionally exhausted to gently find their way back to a place of calm. My journey into Reiki actually began because I needed help myself.

Before dedicating my work to Reiki, I spent many years working as a software developer and later trained as a massage therapist. During that time I experienced chronic stress, panic disorder and recurring migraines. I had many panic attacks, some of which were so frightening that ambulances were called on several occasions. When you’re in the middle of a panic attack it can feel overwhelming and isolating, and I know first-hand how difficult it can be when your mind simply won’t switch off and your body feels constantly on edge.

Like many people searching for relief, I tried many different approaches. I explored medication, therapy, acupuncture, hypnosis, EFT and several other methods. Some things helped a little, but nothing seemed to create the deeper shift I was hoping for.

Interestingly, I didn’t even have a Reiki treatment before taking my Reiki Level I course. Something about it simply felt right, so I decided to learn it for myself.

That decision became a quiet turning point in my life. Through regular Reiki practice and further training, I began to notice steady and meaningful changes in my nervous system, my stress levels and my overall wellbeing. It wasn’t dramatic or mystical, it was gradual, grounding and deeply settling.

That personal experience completely changed my life, and it’s the reason I’m so passionate about sharing Reiki with others today.

I now practise and teach traditional Reiki within the Usui lineage, and I’m also trained in Karuna Reiki® and Rahanni. While I deeply respect the traditional roots of Reiki, I also believe it should feel accessible and supportive for modern life.

Whether you come for a Reiki session or join one of my classes, my aim is always to create a calm, welcoming environment where you can relax and simply be yourself. You don’t need any spiritual beliefs to experience Reiki just an open mind and a willingness to learn.

Many people first come to me because they are looking for support with stress or anxiety. Quite often though, something shifts during their sessions and they begin to feel drawn to learning Reiki for themselves.

Reiki Level I is the starting point and is designed for beginners or anyone completely new to Reiki. It can be incredibly empowering because it gives you simple, practical tools that you can use every day to support your own wellbeing, as well as helping family, friends and even animals. One of the things I love most is seeing students realise that Reiki is something they can genuinely use in their daily lives. It’s a beautiful skill that stays with you forever.

I love teaching Reiki because it goes beyond hands-on healing. It empowers people to change the way they think and approach their daily lives. By incorporating Reiki principles and practices into everyday routines, people often find they are better able to manage anxiety, feel more present and develop a deeper sense of inner peace and wellbeing. Teaching allows me to share this transformative practice and support others in taking an active role in their own healing journey.

Passing Reiki on to others is something I care deeply about. I truly believe it is a life-changing gift, and teaching allows me to share that gift so more people can experience the calm, balance and confidence it can bring.

At The Reiki School I teach all levels of Reiki, including Animal Reiki. I also run Reiki shares and workshops on topics such as manifestation and anxiety. You don’t need to be attuned to Reiki to attend the workshops they are open to anyone who feels drawn to come along.

If you’ve been curious about Reiki, or you feel a quiet nudge to learn more, you are very welcome to join one of my courses when the time feels right for you. For many people, learning Reiki becomes the beginning of a truly positive and meaningful change in their lives.

My personal philosophy:
“Today is a gift, unwrap it with presence. The magic of life is not in the past or future, but in the art of living each moment.”

HEART and EARTH use the same letters.

Not a coincidence… a reminder.

The same energy that beats within you is the same energy that flows through the earth beneath your feet. Your heart is not separate from nature it’s a reflection of it.

When your heart feels heavy, go to the earth.
Sit with her. Breathe with her. Let her hold what you’ve been carrying.

When your heart feels open, grounded, and full, notice how deeply connected you feel to everything around you.

There is wisdom in this connection.
There is healing in remembering it.

Care for your heart.
Care for the earth.

They are, in so many ways, one and the same. 🌿🤍

Most people know the common headache triggers:
stress, certain hair or face products, even foods like chocolate or eggs.

But there’s one cause hardly anyone talks about…

👉 Sleeping on your back.

When you lie flat, it can:
• increase sinus pressure
• affect breathing
• put strain on your neck

All of that can build up overnight and show up as a morning headache.

Try this simple experiment:
➡️ Sleep on your side for the next 7 days
➡️ When you wake up, sit up and take slow deep breaths
in through your nose, out through your mouth for 3–4 minutes

Notice how your head feels after.

Sometimes it’s not what you’re doing during the day…
it’s what’s happening while you sleep.

💬 Save this post or forward it to someone who suffers with headaches and come back and tell me how it goes.

Step outside for a moment…
and everything is already showing us how to live.

The trees don’t rush yet they stand strong, deeply rooted.
They teach us how to ground.

The flowers don’t compare yet they bloom fully.
They remind us that beauty doesn’t need permission.

The leaves fall without resistance
trusting they will return in a different form.
They show us how to let go.

The sun rises every day without fail
not asking if it’s ready.
Just doing what it was created to do.

And it sets…
without guilt, without hesitation.
A quiet reminder that rest is not weakness.

The moon doesn’t try to be full all the time.
It allows itself to change
and is no less powerful in any phase.

The ocean moves in rhythms, not control.
The seasons don’t question their timing.
The rain falls, and still… something grows.

Even the animals take only what they need.
No overthinking. No excess. No pretending.

Nature is not forcing anything.
And yet, everything gets done.

So why are we always pushing, questioning, resisting?

Maybe the lesson isn’t to figure everything out.

Maybe the lesson is to soften…
to trust…
and to listen.

Because everything we’re searching for
has been quietly shown to us all along.

✨ Just for today ✨

I will not worry.

Not every thought is a problem to solve.
Some thoughts are just worry, repetitive, uncertain, and searching for answers that don’t exist right now.

Example of a habit loop:
Cue → You notice uncertainty (e.g., “What if something goes wrong?”)
Routine → You start overthinking, replaying scenarios, trying to figure it out
Reward → You feel a brief sense of control or relief

But the loop repeats… and the worry grows.

For example:
“I might be late tomorrow → I’ll set an earlier alarm.” ✔️ (useful thinking)

“What if I mess up? What if everything goes wrong?” ✖️ (worry loop)

Today, I choose to notice the difference.

If there’s something I can do, I will take action.
If there isn’t, I will let the thought pass without following it.

I release the habit of overthinking for control.
I allow uncertainty without trying to fix it.

Just for today, I trust myself to handle what actually happens not everything my mind imagines. 🌿

What happens IF everything works out better than what I expected!
