I get asked this question sometimes, and it’s something I’ve really had to think about. Here’s how I see it: being positive isn’t about ignoring the reality of suffering, it’s about choosing a mindset that fuels your soul, even when things are tough.
We all have moments where staying positive feels impossible. But that’s when the real work begins. Positivity is a practice. It’s something you work on, especially on the days when you don’t feel like it. When you choose to lift yourself up, you also lift the energy around you.
Negativity, on the other hand, is a low vibration. Nothing good in this world comes from staying stuck in negativity. It brings you down, and it holds you back from growing. The higher your vibration, the more that energy returns to you and others. When you think negative thoughts, you're only causing your own suffering. And in that space of suffering, you can’t come from a place of compassion or love, not for others, and not for yourself.
Choosing positivity doesn’t mean you ignore the pain in the world, but it does mean you choose to respond with compassion, light, and action. That’s self-love, raising your vibration so you can show up fully, not just for yourself, but for others as well.
We’re all here to learn lessons, and the more we align ourselves with positivity, the easier those lessons can be learned. We might as well learn them with love, with light, and with the belief that the energy we put out into the world will come back to us, helping not just ourselves but everyone we come in contact with.
