ℹ️Polite Reminder to Patients

Our trained Reception Care Navigators are here to support you in accessing the most appropriate care. You may not always need to see a GP to receive the help you need.

Please note that although patients are welcome to queue at the surgery from 8:00am, this does not guarantee an appointment with a GP or ANP. All patients will be directed to the most suitable service based on clinical need.

* Pharmacy First / Pharmacy Plus services offer a wide range of treatments and, for certain conditions, pharmacists are able to prescribe medication—just like a GP.

* Need physiotherapy?
You can self-refer quickly and easily via:
https://novushealth.co.uk/

* Please note:
Prescription requests and non-urgent enquiries will not be processed before 10:30am.

* For convenience, you can also submit queries and repeat medication requests via PATCHS or email:
wyicb-wak.tievetara@nhs.net

Thank you for your ongoing support!

🌡️ Increase in Childhood Rashes – What You Need to Know

We are currently seeing an increase in cases of common viral rashes, including:

Chickenpox
Rubella
Measles

These images show typical examples to help you recognise symptoms.

💊 You do NOT always need to see a GP

Most rashes are mild and self-limiting.

👉 Your local pharmacist can help first

They can:

• Assess the rash
Recommend treatments (e.g. creams, antihistamines)
• Advise if you need to seek further medical care

This helps keep GP appointments available for those who need them most.

⚠️ When to seek urgent medical advice

Please seek urgent care if:

• Your child is very unwell, drowsy, or difficult to wake
• There is a persistent high fever
• The rash does not fade when pressed with a glass (sign of meningitis)
• They are having breathing difficulties

With the bank holiday approaching, make sure you order your repeat prescription in good time to avoid any delays in getting your medicines.

GP practices and pharmacies may have different opening hours, so it’s best to plan ahead and not leave it until the last minute.

Find out how to order your repeat prescription here, including via the NHS App: https://nhs.uk/nhs-services/prescriptions/how-to-order-a-repeat-prescription/

• Itchy, red, and watery eyes (allergic conjunctivitis).

• Discomfort and sensitivity to light.

• Itchy throat or ears, often accompanied by irritation or a scratchy feeling.

• Fatigue and irritability affecting overall energy levels and mood.
