When you find out you are pregnant, you can refer yourself for NHS pregnancy care so you start care with a midwife right away.

Once you sign up online, the maternity team will contact you to book your first appointment with a midwife.

You should do this by the 10th week of pregnancy, if possible, but it’s never too late to start. If you're over 10 weeks, refer yourself as soon as you can.

📢 Resident Doctors Strike: 25–30 July 2025

Resident doctors will strike for 5 days from 7am Friday 25 July to 7am Wednesday 30 July.

We’re working hard to minimise disruptions. Emergency and acute care will be prioritised, and patients needing urgent treatment will still be seen.

If you have a hospital appointment or procedure scheduled, we’ll contact you directly if it needs to be rescheduled. If you don’t hear from us, please attend as normal.
