We provide support mainly to those seeking a residential or nursing placement but can also provide care and support to people with complex needs arising from a range of disabilities and health conditions, including mental health issues, learning disabilities, and those that may have dual diagnosis.

Our first outing of Autumn today took the Ashdale Ramblers up to Haverfordwest to revisit our resident Jim’s old stomping grounds and explore the town centre!

We loved viewing the new ‘Instagram able bridge’ (though we weren’t sure we would’ve paid that much for it), then we visited the town centre museum and had a hot debate about how the ankle stocks would have worked.

After popping in some of the bridge street shops we finished by visiting the Turkish Cafe on Quay street that we read about in our news review group for cappuccino’s and baklava!

Though we were necessarily a smaller group today we still made it happen, thank you everyone 🥰

A fantastic day at Ffos Las Races for the Ashdale Ramblers today! We picnicked with a pint while choosing our runners before heading down to the finish line to watch them go. Impromptu singalongs on the bus were a highlight of our day, and a look at the horses round the parade ring finished off our afternoon nicely. We were all thankful for the tips from our racing expert Roy, and managed to finish the day with no great losses and at least a win for each.

A beautiful bank holiday bbq and garden party today! Huge thanks to Mandy and Jen for the epic spread 😋 we followed it up with an afternoon of music from local group the Gerriatrics, residents were singing along and enjoying some drinks from the bar in the sunshine.
Couldn’t have asked for better weather, thanks to all the staff on the job today making it possible for our residents to relax and enjoy themselves.

A fun day out yesterday pottering around the high street and the Pembroke Craft market! It would have been rude not to finish with a pint Royal George Pembroke!
Our residents enjoyed a bit of shopping, getting an early start on presents for the big C 🎄 and having a chat with neighbours as we went.

The loveliest day in the sun this week as our ramblers headed over to Milford waterfront for a date with some local crustaceans and a brilliant and informative talk from Welsh lobster Co! We’re hoping they’ll bring a selection of these interesting creatures to visit us at home soon.
Next we meandered around the waterfront and soaked in sea views before a drink and snacks overlooking the marina (and a bit of light shopping for some!)

Over the past two weeks we have had an amazing time sharing so much joy through song across North, South & West Wales, and Cornwall with residents, staff and their friends and families at their summer sharings.

An amazing day of Hawaiian themed fun was had today! Armchair travel to Hawaii this morning showed us more about the history and diversity of the islands.
After lunch we opened the tiki bar for tropical cocktails, learned how to Hula and enjoyed a fantastic concert from returning favourite, local Ukelele group The Hopeful’s!

We finished up with a quiz and pizza party for supper (Ham & Pineapple, of course!).

Thanks to all the staff who dressed up for the occasion (not all pictured), the friends and family who joined in the singalong and the lovely members of the Hopefuls, we really enjoyed the addition of your new harmonica player to the crew!

Ashdale Ramblers enjoyed a truly beautiful afternoon in nature Colby Woodland Garden yesterday! We soaked up the sunshine on a stroll through the meadow, made friends with a robin in the walled garden and listened to the sound of the brook babbling as we crossed the bridges. Finally (of course) we replenished our energy with a visit to the beautiful Bothy tea rooms for cake slices the size of our heads and drinks!
Big thanks to all who supported this trip, staff, volunteers and as always our amazing Road Team Tim!

Let’s have a moment for some pics of lovely pups on a Tuesday morning! We love it when people bring their pets to visit us here, from staff pups to the lovely Ruby from Greyhound Rescue therapy dogs we always have time for a fuss at Ashdale.

Our monthly collective worship with Pastor Rob James was extra special this month with the addition of Pastor Sang Bo bringing members of his congregation from Korea to visit us! Our residents really enjoyed sharing song and prayers with them and the wonderful conversations. Thank you so much for coming to join us

Another beautiful afternoon over at Stackpole Walled Gardens with another intrepid group of Ashdale ramblers! Alan and Eileen enjoyed a potter round the orchard where one of the volunteer gardeners treated them to a tasting blackcurrants and raspberries, while the rest of us enjoyed smelling the Jasmine and lavender before we all got together to tuck into tea and scones. Thanks for having us!
