I was back at college today attending NADA protocol training. NADA was initially developed to aid relaxation and promote wellbeing in settings where people are supported with alcohol and drug misuse.

Now days it is also used for stress and anxiety management, trauma recovery, smoking sessation and helping patients with the side effects of cancer medications, among other things.

I’m hoping to set up a drop in clinic. Watch this space!

What a fantastic service available now from Penarth train station. Brompton folding bicycles available for as little as £5 a day. The one I’ve hired is brand new!
You need to register first and have the App on your phone but the system is very easy to use.

Very interesting talk about the hidden impact of medications. The speaker is a renowned UK pharmacist.

Ask your GP for a review if you feel like you are taking meds to manage the side effects of other meds. And with GP approval maybe consider acupuncture as a non-pharmaceutical intervention to help manage the side effects of the medications you do need to take?

Yesterday was my final day attending the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine. I’m now a fully fledged traditional acupuncturist 🥳🥳🥳

It’s a momentous event after 3.5 intense years of assignments, exams, dissertation and weekly attendance of practical skills classes in Reading. The acupuncture degree course is more demanding than anything I’ve done before, so taking this on in my 50s was really challenging and feels like a major achievement.

Acupuncture is best known for its treatment of chronic pain conditions for example osteoarthritis, migraines and muscular skeletal injuries. But during my 9 months treating patients at the college clinic I have witnessed acupuncture helping people with all sorts of physical and mental health issues.

Next step is to update my website and start spreading the word that I’m open for business. Exciting times!!
