Cardiff & Vale Breast Centre Appeal

Cardiff & Vale Breast Centre Appeal Welcome to the Cardiff & Vale Breast Centre Appeal! This appeal is part of Cardiff & Vale Health Charity, registered charity number 1056544

The Breast Centre at University Hospital Llandough treats between 450 and 500 new breast cancer patients every year; for initial investigations, follow-up treatment and patients returning for results. At a time when patients may be very anxious they tell us it makes a huge difference to them to have a streamlined service with everything under one roof. The Breast Centre Appeal raised the money to build the Centre, which is designed around the needs of our patients. For example, when the Centre was built, a private corridor was included so that upset patients can leave the building without walking through the busy waiting areas. The new Breast Centre houses out-patient clinics and diagnostic radiology services together, close to the ward and operating facilities. This means that fewer patients need to stay in hospital overnight. Patients can have a mammogram or ultrasound and get their results on the same day; then if further investigations are needed these can also be carried out at the Centre. Donations to the Breast Centre Appeal, part of Cardiff & Vale Health Charity and now in its sixth year, vitally supplement the NHS service by funding a complete support package for patients, including holistic training, complimentary therapy and a tailored post-surgery exercise programme. Our fundraisers, both Breast Centre staff and volunteers, are passionate about raising money to improve Breast Centre services. You can find much more information on what people are doing on our page.

🌟 Bollywood Takes Over Strictly! 🌟 Join Us for an Unforgettable Night!

Over the past 9 years, our Strictly Top Dancer event has brought glamour, fun, and incredible fundraising to support the Breast Centre Appeal at Llandough Hospital. This year, we’re adding a vibrant twist… Bollywood style! 💃✨

📅 Save the Date: 10th October 2026 for the big event at the SSE SWALEC Stadium

✅ Teams need to be formed by the 31st January 2026—so now’s the time to get involved!

We’re looking for non-dancing teams of between 6-8 (same-sex or mixed-sex, aged 18+) to take on the challenge. Over 4-6 months, you’ll learn a Bollywood routine from a specialist instructor and perform at a spectacular Strictly-style event—complete with judges, scoring paddles, and all the glitz!

📍 Expect a fabulous evening with a two-course meal, raffles and live entertainment.

💖 Each team aims to raise £3,000 for the Breast Centre and businesses involved enjoy amazing social media exposure throughout the campaign.

A heartfelt thank you to Clare Bevan for taking on the Cardiff 10K on 7th September in support of our Breast Centre Appeal!

Despite battling a cold and braving the rain, Clare absolutely smashed the race, and her fundraising target! She doubled her goal, raising an amazing £1,188 (including Gift Aid). 👏

Clare chose to support the Breast Centre Appeal because, in her own words:

“The physiotherapy and exercise prescription services funded by the charity have been an absolutely essential part of me rebuilding my life post-cancer. Please give generously so other ladies can benefit for many years to come. Diolch o galon.”

We’re so grateful for Clare’s strength, generosity, and determination, and the money she has raised really will directly benefit other patients at the Breast Centre, University Hospital Llandough.

🌟 It’s a family affair! 🌟

A huge good luck to Clare Bevan, who’s taking on the Cardiff 10K this Sunday in support of our Breast Centre Appeal 💗

In Clare’s own words:
"The physiotherapy and exercise prescription services funded by the charity have been absolutely essential in helping me rebuild my life after cancer. Please give generously so other women can benefit for years to come. Diolch o galon."

Clare has already smashed her fundraising target, and she’s not alone! Her daughter Eleri is also lacing up her trainers for the Cardiff Half Marathon next month, supporting the same incredible cause.

Let’s cheer on this inspirational mum/daughter duo and help them make an even bigger impact!
