Meet Steph – Salon Owner

Steph is the face behind Pia & Co and the standard behind everything the salon represents.

Specialising in hair extensions, Steph is known for creating seamless, high-end transformations with a focus on detail, longevity and overall hair health.

Beyond the chair, she also works closely with her manufacturing team of her own hair range, while educating and mentoring others entering the industry.

While no longer taking on colour clients directly, Steph plays a key role in guiding colour direction within the salon, ensuring every result aligns with the Pia & Co standard.

You’ll usually find her chatting about her latest chaotic endeavours… making sure every client leaves feeling completely sane in comparison. 😅

You don’t always need a full head of extensions

One of the biggest misconceptions about extensions is that they’re high maintenance, heavy or obvious.

But sometimes all it takes is half a head to completely change how your hair looks and feels.

If your hair tends to fall flat, fine or lacks fullness through the ends, adding a small amount of extensions can create soft volume, thicker ends and a much fuller overall shape while still looking completely natural.

Most people are surprised at just how much difference just half head can make.

Obsessed!!! 🤩 - We don’t post often (we simply don’t have the time 🙈) but when we do it’s to show transformations like this! Emily wanted to eliminate the amount of warmth she had in her hair and opt for an ashier brown, with * subtle * lighter tones. We added extensions to create the length she’s been missing, whilst still keeping it natural looking & super classy! 👏

A quick hello (and an apology!) from us…

We know we’re a bit behind on messages, advertisement, and socials in general, but the truth is, it’s doesn’t stop here and we simply do not have the time!! I don’t really eat, p*e, and survive mostly on (hairy) coffee!!

The good news? One of our lovely team members will be back from maternity soon, which means things will start to feel a little easier behind the scenes and we cannot wait to have her back with us….let the constant laughs commence!! 💕

In the meantime, please bear with us. We’re heading into the busiest time of the year, and evenings in particular are booked up months in advance, so I’d always recommend getting your appointments secured in advance.

I’m so sorry I can’t take on every enquiry that comes through, but I truly appreciate every single one of you who supports our salon.

Thank you for keeping us this busy – we couldn’t do this without you!

Most Hair Extensionists aren’t actually qualified hairstylists, which is absolutely fine for:

•Basic applications with no precision cutting needed
•Working under somebody more senior/qualified
•A tech that has launched into a full time hair career and taken the essential time to study advanced hair courses.

What most people don’t realise is, with lack of hairdressing knowledge & study, comes ZERO scalp knowledge.

A qualified experienced hair stylist will:

Ask the right questions and inspect the scalp before performing any treatment.
• Recognize signs of contagious or infectious conditions.
• Know when to refuse a service and recommend the client sees a doctor or dermatologist.
• Use appropriate products for any scalp conditions

Through years worth of study, Hairdressers are trained to recognise scalp conditions and act accordingly.
