Here’s a bit about me and how I became a Reiki Therapist. It all started with a friend at work, Julie who used to give me treatments in my lunch break. I found these treatments very relaxing and helped ground me. I completed a Level 1 and 2 Reiki course in Usui Reiki. I really benefitted from being able to treat myself, after a while I was drawn to start treating others. Completing a 2 day, Level 2 Usui Reiki course, followed by 10 cases studies. The case studies involved both in person and distance healing Reiki Treatments, thanks especially to Sue and Alison for volunteering to be my guinea pigs! I completed this training with Fay Johnstone, Fay is a magnificent teacher, who has published a number of Plant Reiki books and runs courses from her home & garden in Fife.
In May 2021, I started giving treatments at Noble Beauty, Roslin. I use a lovely standalone treatment room, which is a very peaceful setting. It is a great privilege to treat other people, bringing a bit of balance and calm into their busy lives. Carly owns Noble Beauty and has been very supportive as I’ve started out.
Reiki was just the start of my spiritual journey; it’s now become a way of life. I use meditation, journaling, oracle cards, affirmations and gratitude to keep myself grounded. I’m fascinated by crystals, my collection is growing so much that finding them all to put out to cleanse at full moon, can take a bit of time!
Being in nature is a big part of my life, most days I go out walking, I feel it gives me clarity, a sense of being part of something bigger and I solve most of my work conundrums on a walk! I’ve recently bought a drum and I am learning shamanic drumming; I can be found drumming down by the river.
My husband is very supportive looking after the kids while I’m out treating people or on yet another course! Suzi Gibson of A Wee Retreat in Peebles, helped me greatly with coaching, go check out her studio and shop in Peebles. Lesley Finlay in Peebles gives me Reiki treatments to ‘top me up’. Lesley does a number of different therapies, most which I’ve tried!
So, what’s next on my journey? I’m starting a monthly retreat with Naomi Mills @ Light and Life Chiropractic. I am constantly learning and am grateful for all the people I have met along my journey giving help and guidance.
