💡 Did you know we have Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioners (APPs) at Eastfield Medical Practice?

We are delighted to have Fionna and Naomi, our GP Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioners (APPs), working as part of our primary care team. They are expert clinicians who can help with muscle, bone, and joint problems – often saving you from needing to see a GP.

👉 When are they available?

Fionna – Friday mornings
Naomi – Wednesday full day & Friday mornings

An APP appointment may be right for you if you have:
✅ Back, neck, shoulder or knee pain
✅ Muscle or joint aches and stiffness
✅ Sports injuries or sprains
✅ Concerns about mobility or posture

Our APPs can:
🔹 Provide expert assessment and advice
🔹 Refer for x-rays and other investigations where needed
🔹 Support self-management and prescribe simple pain relief
🔹 Refer on to physiotherapy, orthopaedics, or other services if required

How to book:
Just ask our reception team for an appointment with Fionna or Naomi when calling or visiting the practice.

📢 Public Holiday on Monday 15 September 2025

Eastfield Medical Practice will be closed on Monday 15 September for the public holiday.

Please remember to order your repeat prescriptions in plenty of time to ensure you don’t run out of medication while we are closed.

Local pharmacies will have adjusted opening hours on the day and we have shared these for Midlothian below.

- For minor injuries, some pharmacies can provide treatment under the NHS Pharmacy First Plus service.
- For urgent medical advice that cannot wait until the surgery reopens, please contact NHS 24 on 111.
- In a medical emergency, always call 999.

We will reopen as normal on Tuesday 16 September at 8.00am.

Please arrange to collect any prescriptions in advance of this to avoid any inconvenience.
